Alright, whatever. It would be hypocritical for me to ****** about you hating Meer considering I think Hale sounds like a 50-something chain smoker.Actually, Male Shep would strangle a puppy with one hand and still sound constipated about it.

Shepard's dancing.
Also Ashley's dancing at Flux. She looked like Elaine Benes.
That might have been the moment I decided Liara was going to be Shepard's LI.

Any of those PG-13 sex scenes, with their cheesy porno soundtracks and glassy-eyed CG characters from the depths of the uncanny valley, make me cringe hard enough to rupture something. Particularly the last one in ME3 that's intercut with a vent-brat dream about self-immolation. Talk about mood whiplash.

What I said was just personal assessment. If you find my relatively bland critique as offensive and rage-inducing then obviously you haven't been around BSN that long.
If I really want to start 'hating' on Meer, I could just tweet him to stop milking about being Commander Shepard which he does all the time. At least Bioware still employ Jennifer Hale as one of their main protagonist which Meer haven't been one for four years.
You obviously haven't been around a lot of women if you think FemShep's voice sounded like a chain smoker...

Pass the popcorn.
For the record, I thought Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale were both great, though I think Meer did a slightly better job with the Renegade lines and Hale did a slightly better job with the Paragon lines.

What mike said. Steve also had link to the Collectors.
But I - personally - wouldn't call those "nods to ME2".
That's all I meant though. The Collectors. "Fight for the Lost", etc.. It had a decent affect on two people at least.

That's why I said "personally". For you it's a nod to ME2, for me not.

Well, Sam wouldn't have rescued Jacob/Brynn, Miranda, or knew about Jack and David otherwise. Sam's very open to your past with Cerberus. Notice how she only helps with human missions too. Or cares about human research, like Grissom and Jack. While the rest of the game has us running around saving the rest of the galaxy helping Krogan.
She's the only one who gives a **** about the things I gave a **** about in ME2.

This forum.
But BSN is wonderfully unique in it's weirdness, been here a long time, seen some ****. Remember this glorious gem about the DA forums...
I guarantee the ME forums are worse, we really need a part 2 of this! ![]()

Normally I avoid the whole "which female vs male VA is better" since it always morph into some gender war.
Meer is a talented improv actor (who did a better job at imitating 11th Doctor than Matt Smith himself) but he is still an inexperienced VA as Shepard. Most of his best and memorable Mass Effect performances was his roles as minor NPCs.
Besides Brian Bloom did a much better sexier badass Shepard in SWTOR without even trying too hard. Being an in-game chick magnet meant nothing if you can't sell it for real.

They're both good. I get that some people can dislike one of them, but i got the impression that most of them don't just dislike, they hate the performance with passion.

I've never even played Femshep personally.. but I planned a female if I happened to get this game. I seem to rotate genders on all their games.

Can we all just agree that Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale are both very talented at what they do? Whomever you prefer more is your choice and that's good for you, no need to prove your point or anything.

To bring up a cringe moment from my favourite game - ME1:
When Shepard compares the fate of the Krogan to that of the humans after the First Contact War, and you're forced to feel moronic for it being an non-skippable part of the conversation, afterwards.
Wrex: "It's not the same"
Yeah, I know, and I don't know why my Shepard is even saying this bull. God, how stupid.

I still feel like insulting him though. Because he tries to excuse their lack of ability to even colonize and try to build homes... constructively. They're a joke, at that point. Screw his pity party.

I could say the same with Tali. I remember how pissed she was when you said they could find another world to colonize and she complained that it could take years for their bodies to get used to the environment. But I thought it was just excuses since they're too stubborn about wanting their homeworld back again and they rather suffer through a species-wide autoimmunity instead. These things doesn't come overnight.

I mean, I (sort of) like Liara, everytime I play as Femshep I romance her, but that whole 108 year old shy and reclusive virgin thing she had going on in ME1 was cringe as *bleep*.
Seriously Bioware, what the *bleep*?
