When has that ever been a thing in Mass Effect?

Personal mass effect fields? Since ME1. Read the codex. Jet packs? Since ME3 multiplayer, unfortunately. It was stupid then and it's stupid now.

The rest of that video looked interesting though. Especially the impact effects.

Using biotics is physically taxing, but running electricity through element zero isnt. Like I said, EVERYONE in Mass Effect uses personal mass effect fields for artificial gravity. Usually to increase it. In the Hanar's case, they use it to obnoxiously float. Whatever. Hell, the skycars use it to fly. That's how they work. The technology is ubiquitous in mass effect.

So saying you need a jet pack to jump like that is...like, really really dumb. Almost like they forgot their own lore.

And it wouldn't be the first time.

Then I suspect that's probably what the jetpacks already do. The jets are just there to guide the trajectory better than human legs.

Maybe. Although, Tela Vasir guided her trajectory pretty well with biotics alone.

Nope.

Heh, you seems focused oN criticizing only EA, while there are other companies which do the same thing with marketing.
Even companies which have better recent records on making games show footage of their games that get downgraded.
I do understand being wary or criticizing Bioware, but you seem over the top, as others on the opposite fields. Fair enough though.

It reeks of obvious rule of cool. "b-b-but Halo has jetpacks now! We have to have them too!"

ME has jetpacks in the lore, no matter how dumb it could be (there are far worse things in ME) from ME3. I don't think they copying anyone, just adding features they couldn't in the previous gen.

Maybe biotics will use space magic to float into the air. Others will use jetpack.

Technically Cerberus soldiers in SP had already jetpacks.

There are a lot of games with jetpack, I don't think they copy anyone. Recently, Fallout 4 has jetpack as well.

Yes, but by taxing her own system. Better to just offload all that strain onto a computer.

I also get the feeling that biotic charge doesn't make much sense in universe. Having what is essentially personal teleportation complicates a lot of Mass Effect's design decisions.

Hey I just hope she's hot. She's kind of seems like a blonde Ashley Williams though.

Well that's no ttoo bad as I thought Ash was kind of hot

Does it mean the default face is actually a non-white guy? Dang, even if it was just the default face, Bioware has a lot of balls, more than Krogan.

If you mean the guy who fell to the floor, that's not the protagonist. He is between the Krogan and the blonde human squad members. It would be nice to have a non-white default, but I don't think they had a model ready just yet.

(they decided on femShep's look in August and released 3 in March following year, so the look of the protagonist is a pretty late decision)

Nice try. Using personal mass effect fields to fly around has never been a thing, but jet packs have been a thing since the first encounter with Cerberus troops in ME3.

But it can be done. Tela Vasir used it in a LOTSB in ME2.

No offense man and I'm not saying this to be a d¡ck but thats bull$#it. Bioware made 3 awesome Mass Effect games. People doubted them and they were proven wrong. You shouldn't prejudge something too soon. Sure you can have an opinion but there isn't enough info on the game for.you to have doubts. The game.looks badass. I hope bioware proves you wrong too. Mass Effect is one of.the best game series of all time. It's gonna continue to stay that way. Don't be afraid of change.

Ok I can be a bit rough around the edges and ME does live up to it's name no doubt about that, I just have high expectations that they're going to make ME:A better than ME3 and I want this game to prove that I'm wrong. But only time will tell if their game is good as they say it is.

Not agreeing with the other guy, but both Samara, Liara and Tela Vasir used mass effect fields to hover/slow their descent in ME2. Not really flying, but similar.

It's not similar. Extremely powerful Asari biotics slowing a fall is nothing like a human biotic shooting into the air. It's the difference between a parachute and a rocket.

When Shepard tackles her through a window and they're falling, she uses her biotics to slow their descent and levitate for a second before they hit the ground.

Like I said, I don't agree with the other guy but the principle is the same. If a biotic can change their own mass to slow descent/levitate slightly then in theory a very powerful biotic could hover, maybe float up a bit with a lot of concentration.
