I saw that HUD and screamed of joy because it's exactly what I wanted.
Also woo people don't look as stiff anymore. I'm just hoping the game overall looks better though since this is allegedly a 2014 build. Those rain effects are beautiful though.
Jetpacking could be a lot of fun if done well, I'm open to the idea especially after the Turian Ghost.

Right, I have photoshop and a lot of time on my hands, so here's a deconstruction of the HUD. It ain't much, but there are some interesting tidbits.
Given how early this build seems to be, I wonder how much of the HUD is final.
Someone may have beaten me to the punch, but I don't have time at the moment to read through the rest of the thread.
Just wanted to chime in and say that grenade/rocket symbol looks a LOT like the symbol for Multi-Frag Grenades on the N7 Destroyer ME3MP character.

It's a little disturbing that there aren't a bunch of activated ability slots.

The problem is, that only guarantees balance when the player is exclusively outside of cover. If we're zipping from cover point to cover point, then we'd effectively gain a maneuverability advantage over stationary enemies without being subject to the exposure cost. In anticipation of that tactic BIoWare would have to add something to the enemy AI and potentially reduce the amount of cover in the game. I think the most fun way to solve this problem would be to make the enemies as maneuverable as the player, so when they get flanked, they can reposition more effectively.
However, doing this may increase the skill floor of the game because now casual players would have to deal with far more mobile enemies. Using pause to aim and shooting might not be a viable tactic any more.
Jetpack cooldown during the fights would do the trick.

There better be jetpack cooldown, or else that jetpack will be too powerful.

The game is looking good, specially for a 2014 build. I can't wait for E3.

One of the things I'm glad about is the fact that they haven't drastically changed the krogan design like people were saying they did. I knew that the roaring krogan in the video from a couple of years ago wasn't a normal krogan and instead some kind of mutation.
Now I'm really excited to see all the other species in Frostbite. Lemme see some high quality turians, salarians and asari!

They better be careful with the jetpack balance, or it will OP the entire game on every difficulty level.

You misunderstood. The way she looks is similar.

I'm struggling with two beliefs right now:
1) That "leak" is directly (silently and of course secretly disguised) from BioWare. But that... wouldn't make sense (that would be very poor "advertising", or even if it's just made to 'test the waters', you don't do that with a build that looks like it was made within the first three months of the game leaving the brainstorming phase).
2) It's a legitimate leak coming from some guy in the dev team who better remain anonymous for the sake of his career.
Either way, I think that this "leak" reinforces the general opinion that it'd be more than about damn time that BioWare simply release SOMETHING official, and new. Even just a picture for crying out loud. The long term media silence is ridiculous.

Sure looks like some freelance VFX artist will be hearing soon from BioWare.

It takes up about as much space as in every other ME game...
Except the first one, which had the most sensible HUD.

The leak definitely isn't deliberate. Initially EA was getting the vids knocked down.
Also the footage is at far too early a stage of development for it to be intentional. An intentional leak would have been something more highly polished.

Using biotics is physically taxing, but running electricity through element zero isnt. Like I said, EVERYONE in Mass Effect uses personal mass effect fields for artificial gravity. Usually to increase it. In the Hanar's case, they use it to obnoxiously float. Whatever. Hell, the skycars use it to fly. That's how they work. The technology is ubiquitous in mass effect.
So saying you need a jet pack to jump like that is...like, really really dumb. Almost like they forgot their own lore.
And it wouldn't be the first time.
I don't think it's that much of a stretch, really--to me, it just seems like a miniaturised version of what the Mako did in Mass Effect 1. The armour uses its eezo core to momentarily reduce the wearer's mass, with the jetpack there to provide the actual kick up into the sky. Come to think of it, that'd actually provide a relatively lore-friendly means of balancing the jetpack, too--while the eezo core's busy reducing your mass to let you fly, it wouldn't be able to generate kinetic barriers, so you'd be unshielded.
No idea if they'll actually go with any of that, of course, but it would be entirely consistent with how the Mako worked--well, excepting the shield thing, anyway, but that could easily be explained away by the constraints of the armour's much smaller eezo core.
