Finished. All DLCs came out. They're also done with patches, for both SP and MP.
Yeah they're done working on DAI now all their focus is now on the next Mass Effect game Andromeda
^ We wait.
^ We wait.
that we do besides it shouldn't be too long a wait for MEA as for DA4 that'll probably be announced within a year or 2 of Andromeda releasing

The only one still assigned to Dragon Age is Patrick Weekes, the new lead writer. They haven't announced anything and haven't confirmed if they're gong to make another one; most people read between the lines of their statements and believe (as I do) that they're concepting DA4 but are prevented from discussing it due to Bioware/EA corporate policy.
It'll be a long time til the next DA. Bioware only releases one franchise at a time, and next year is the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda. After that there's an entirely new, secret, so far unannounced game they're working on, which I assume will be released the year after that (2018). So the earliest the next DA could be is 2019, and I wouldn't be surprised with a 2020 release.

... Oh god, its going to be 2020 in 4 years. o.o *feels old*
Different team. Different location (Andromeda is being developed at BioWare Montréal).Yeah they're done working on DAI now all their focus is now on the next Mass Effect game Andromeda
Maybe it's just me....but it seems like games take a lot longer to develop for the new generation of consoles.
Just saying...I'm not getting any younger, and I'll be no spring chicken when DA4 comes out.
Well, it took three and a half years to develop DAI, and that was for two generations of consoles using a brand new engine. So maybe two to three years for DA4? ![]()

I know, I'll be 25
Still, I doubt we'll have to wait that long for DA4. EA won't let it take that long, because people's attention spans aren't that long. Plus, a lot of the foundation of DA4 is done if they build off what they had for DA:I.

That's sort of true, but I think part of it has to do with upgrading to new engines and getting used to building games for the new consoles themselves. I think the speed will increase again as devs get more acquainted with new tech. I don't think DA4's development time will be as long as DA:I's. We could even get it as early as late 2017, since that's 3 years after DA:I, and a pretty standard development time.
But yeah... 3 years to wait for a sequel is a long time, and after a few of them it really adds up ![]()
That's the sort of reasoning that lead to the incredibly rushed DA2.I know, I'll be 25

25 is a nice age.
*thinks back at 2010* Bought myself Pokemon Heart Gold for my 25th birthday~ ![]()
*thinks at 2020* I'll be 35...........
but I don't think I'll stop playing anytime soon.

Ouch...this thread just became painful.
Old?....huh.
Hey! Let me show my age
everyone who just looks at me, or hears my voice (and doesn't know me) thinks I'm 16-17
<-- tho I could live with that ![]()
There are people, who ask me on the phone "Is your mommy home?" in a voice like they're talking to a 7 year old. ![]()

I'll be 34.
Awesome.

2020 would mean that the gap between DAi and next game chapter would be 6 years. And considering that DA4 will be, in some respects, a very close continuation of DA4, I don't think they'd wait that long.

Let see....for myself, plenty to do! DAI was actually the first Dragon Age game I bought. Then I went back and got the other two and played them (so that I could play DAI again and fully understand what was going on this time). In addition, I've begun reading the various books and comics so I can do an "ultimate/final" playthrough which should be done just before DA4 comes out.
I'm also pondering starting the Mass Effect series. I haven't played any of them, so I can start from the beginning. (Or should that be avoided?)
Sorry for giggling. My sister, who just turned 52, gets asked things like that, on the phone as well.
S'all good. I just have to poke a little fun, when people under 40 start talking about feeling "old".
(As an aside, I will turn 51, in 2020. But I'm still buying the damn game. Oh Yes!)
It's like you're speaking about my future. Women in my family are known to look really young. My favourite: my aunt was asked to show ID when she wanted to buy more alcohol... because it ended on her granddaugher's first communion (said granddaugher was 9).
Sweet genes ![]()
That's the sort of reasoning that lead to the incredibly rushed DA2.
So what if you'll be 25? It's not like there's an age limit on gaming.
I wasn't condoning rushing games, I was just saying what I expect from EA. Though I think 3 years of solid dev time would be good enough. More than that and it's possible they'll bite more than they can chew idea-wise.
Oh, no, it's not that I'll be too old for gaming. I was just that if I'm currently 20, by the time I'm 25 I'll have lived for another quarter of the total time I've ever lived (obviously), and I guess that waiting for something for a quarter of my current age just sounds crazy to me ![]()
I guess I'm not coming across correctly today! ![]()
Anyway, don't worry about your ages guys! You have decades ahead of you, hopefully!
