What are you talking about? People have been overwhelmingly positive about Tresspasser?!

Edit: from what I've read on this forum at least

Yeah, at release. I was one of them for the most part. A lot of why I and some others (the ones who looked forward to a story about the Inquisitor and Solas) enjoyed it so much wasn't just the content of the DLC itself, but what it set up for the future. Now that that set-up seems to be ignored, we're less happy about the whole thing.

You can't put that in the same league as the ME ending. I mean people REALLY got mad (I remember, I was there and I was one of them).

But there does seem to be a sort-of pattern that really good Bioware endings stopped at ME2.

Now that my new pc will be here in the next few days I'll be replaying DAI and trying to forget the awful XBOX 360 experience I suffered through. Plus the DLCs will all be new for me since I did not play them. I hope the PC gameplay is better than the 360's.

2020 would mean that the gap between DAi and next game chapter would be 6 years. And considering that DA4 will be, in some respects, a very close continuation of DA4, I don't think they'd wait that long.

I seriously doubt it's that simple. DAI is both a monstrosity that will be very hard to follow without a huge gigantic budget. And I doubt it's been such a massive success because of the numerous MMO like elements. I consider a sign that despite I never ever hate Bioware that it's only recently I started play DAI and didn't even yet bought it, the 1 day trial didn't allow me decide and instead decided give a try to Origin Access (now I admit I regret my choice and I'd better not have request refund and not have suscribe to OA).

So a follow up to DAI seems very problematic and I wouldn't be surprised it couldn't be released before 2020.

For me the ME3 affair was scandalous, and the scandal is they changed the end because of fans harassing to get their Hollywood end, with everything explained in full detail and and no mysterious points, and because of fans unable to understand that some graphics are much less important than words and the colored same ending was almost like an alchemic ending, at least certainly not a lame Hollywood stuff.

ME3 was too ambitious for its fans, sigh.

Wait, I'm confused. Did someone come out with a statement that DA4 won't pick up Trespasser's cliffhanger?

Or is the disappointment from the whole "My Inquisitor should be the PC in DA4?" and Bioware says no?

I think those slides are partially resposible for this way of thinking.

They did nothing to me, but that's what I gathered from reactions of others.

I still don't get it. They said "Set up the future of the franchise, Eluvians, Qunari, Ancient elves" I gathered from that a lof from Trespasser is setting up the future. I don't see where they would leave the cliffhanger....maybe I'm dumb.

It has pretty much been confirmed that the Inquisitor will not be the protagonist of DA4. This leaves some open ended story questions about the Inquisitor's potential interactions with Solas, the person that betrayed them and may possibly change events in all of Thedas. The cliffhanger insinuating that the Inquisitors choice - to redeem or kill Solas seems to be forgotten, if we are not going to be able to play that through as the Inquisitor. This does not mean the Inquisitor will not a have any role whatsoever, or that the remnants of the Inquisition will not be involved.

Consensus here points to a continuation of the Trespasser story in regards to Eluvians, Qunari, and the Ancient elves - and supposedly we're going to Tevinter, but we have no clue how the Inquisitor will really be involved.

Ok, thanks for explaining it, I get it now.

I'm guessing that whoever our next protagonist is in DA4 will come across the Inquisitor, and hopefully our saves will influence if the Inquisitor is angry/ determined to kill, or concerned/ determined to redeem.
