Take screenshots and write down what I'm going to say. because I guarantee you, 100%, based on nothing but my own thoughts, that DA4 will be like this:

The main quest will be about the Tevinter-Qunari war, and we will be a pirate captain. As you know, each Dragon Age game was "different". Origins was your run-of-the-mill party of adventurers wandering around the kingdom, sleeping in tents; DA2 was a city adventure, pretty much a medieval GTA; DAI we were the leader of a powerful organization; and in DA4, Bioware will keep things fresh with a naval adventure! Just look at the map! But how we will interact in the war, I have no idea, maybe we'll receive a Letter of Marque from Tevinter?

The END: We will defeat the Qunari and any other evil force behind the main story, and then, after the celebrations our Inquisitor will appear from the shadows and recruit us into the Inquisition or, if it was disbanded, call us to help him against Solas.

PS: Dragon Age - War Tide looks like a fantastic title for the game.

I like big boats and I cannot lie.

My desk decor:

Spoiler

The sea is definitely not a part of Thedas that has really been delved into, and I do love a spot of naval combat with a side of exploration.

If no matter what, your character is a pirate, that would be a good way to get me not to buy the game. It would be way too limiting for roleplaying. I can't imagine any character I'd like to create who'd be okay with pillaging and looting. Well, okay, looting is SOP in RPGs, but you get my point :P

A Vashoth pirate companion at the very least would be very cool. The mental image of a burly male or amazonian female Qunari wielding a cutlass is too good to remain locked solely in my head, it needs to be canon!

Rather than starting out a pillaging/looting pirate I say let that be a choice, in the beginning you are a lowly minion on the ship until prologue plot happens and suddenly the ship is yours.

You have your pick of side quest so does your ship stay Paragon or go Renegade?

Ahahah, that reminds me:

I mean, after Nightmare, Cthulhu shouldn't be too surprising, right?

What about a hedge mage companion who can control sea creatures... because everyone thinks that Aquaman's powers are completely lame, right until you remember that would technically include all life on the planet, such as humanity, as well as Cthulhu.

But I'd be happy with a scene on a ship where we encounter Cetus, the giant sea serpent that canonically does exist in Dragon Age.

I am curious if it is about "Tevinter-Qunari war" well we get to choose which side to support? That might be interesting?

I am also wondering what would be the protagonist's plot? I don't think they would let us be a part of either side but some fringe element or something. But if so what? Also, with all the Qunari stuff at the end of DAI, I am thinking the Qunari will be the focus of the game, more so than Tevinter.

I am also wondering about Solas. They went to a lot of trouble to set that up, but I suspect he will become the "Flemeth" type of character now, just making rare appearances and spouting cryptic prophecies and all of that.

"Pirate" is just an option. Maybe a mercenary, a Tevinter navy official, a merchant or even a pirate hunter!

We'll join Tevinter's side, they are the good guys and we are the good guys. From a game developer point of view, It would be too much work and budget involved to make the Qunari join-able.

Solas is the new Flemeth, I agree with you.

Gameplay:

The ship is our new Skyhold. We can customize it, like changing sail colors,  and upgrade it with different kinds of cannons, weapons and ammo. Also, we'll be able to buy or conquer other types of ships, each one with its pros and cons. I can't be the only who would love to hunt a dragon with cannon balls.

Pre-order bonus: Secrets of the Gaatlok - unlocks gaatlok launchers and explosive ammo.

The world will consist of areas like the ones in Inquisition, there will be different regions to explore both on foot and on the sea.

Combat: The ship will be like a character normally is, it has a health bar but instead of skills, that bar wills show a button to fire the cannons and others to change the ammo type. Also, we won't be able to fully repair the ship after a fight (basic repairs only), for that we have to pay a harbormaster or whoever repair ships in a port.

Origins:

Pirate = you start as a common pirate in a ship's crew;

Navy Official = Its like the pirate origin, but this time we are serve in a Tevinter warship;

Merchant = The "noble origin", we start as the son/daughter of a "merchant-prince" kind of family.

Apostate = We are a runway mage that decided to scrub a ship's floor to escape from the Templars currently chasing us.

Mercenary = Like the Pirate origin, but this time we are in a mercenary company that managed to get a ship for themselves.

What ties everything together: Everyone is attacked by Qunari ships and somehow decides to fight against them.

I would find pirates exciting but Assassin's Creed gave me plenty of ship adventures, so I'm a little burned out on that. Though if Bioware did go this route I'd probably still buy DA4

I'm fairly certain we won't. Bioware spent the whole DA:I whitewashing Tevinter, mounting a mostly secret cabal of fanatics and dangerous mages well distanced from Tevinter proper. Meanwhile, the Qun has beenportrayed as the Worst thing Ever before the Darkspawns left and right. The amount of choice in this storyline will be "Keep Tevinter as it is" or "Somehow reforms Tevinter without ever seeing any of those reforms implemented anywhere in the game".

The Vent/Qunari war will be done before DA4 starts with their peace conclave getting blown up and Solas corrupting them to join him.

We will be a Tevinter Grey Spawn in DA4 because they sucked in DAI and still have to answer for killing the Divine and hiding the original proto-darkspawn magisters that nearly destroyed Thedas.

Grey Spawn might have had to resort to piracy with the hate from southern Thedas for their actions.

DA: Piratequisition sounds possible.

Bioware already resurrected Leliana and if they want, they will make a Sha-Brytol Spaceship invasion or tell us that the Titans are actually dormant Reapers. I hope you understood my point.

Antiva is next to Tevinter, aside the fact we are going to need a ship if we are visiting Par Vollen.
