what competence is required to play AIU/Reegar ? 

 

i played with a good one last night, a nice mix of Raider shots, melees, grabs ..oh ..wait..  he was spamming snap freeze . oh dear oh dear.

 

I´d rather have a SF spamming AIU than one that doesn´t use it at all. It´s a debuff after all, beneficial for the whole team. It speeds up the game considerably and thus increases the chance for a full exfil.

 

I don't mind OP kits like GI+Black Widow in a lobby - but they'd better be high scoring. A low scoring GI is not a good GI.

 

QFT. Balbock and I had a full geth game. Both of us were rocking flamerless GTs, he went with the good ol´ Typhoon, I was cheesing with the claymoar. Our GI came in last. But then again, we were just too op for him

He, don't be too hard with your judgement. Even you complained about the Screenshake in that game.

I did. Once. Usually I complain about those !#@§ drones and their "I-just-staggered-you-through-500-layers-of-cover-because-I-can" BS. And stunlock. Don´t forget the stunlock.

7twozero and I had an all geth game with him as the Juggy, me as the Engineer. The infiltrator was last in score, but the scores were relatively close IIRC. I wouldn't have minded playing as the GI, but I had to complete the set.

 

Pretty neat for a PUG match to have a theme - but the two most popular builds were obviously the PUGs.

Met a Volus Sentinel without shield boost yesterday.

 

The game basically consisted of:

 

Wave start.

 

Volus goes down.

 

Revived.

 

Volus goes down.

 

Revived.

 

Volus goes down.

 

Medi-gel

 

Volus goes down.

 

 

He was out of medi-gel by wave 2... and then no one else bothered to revive him after that.

 

So add Volus PUGs to my list

IMHO, sniper GI for me is a sort of a waste of some of the GI abilities unless you use indra or raptor. Hunter mode provides for so much accuracy and fire rate boost that you can use somewhat otherwise less optimal weapons to their full potential. I'm mostly talking about hurricane, tempest, talon, piranha, long range raider and claymore, katana, and most of all, scorpion. Almost every weapon benefits from HM but single shot shiper rifles need no accuracy boost and thus, it is wasted.

 

It is individual though but for me, I can never get the same DPS I get with piranha/scorpion when using javelin or BW. Lancer is another good choice but requires stabilization mod for optimal performance and that means, you cannot cheese it with cyclonics and would probably die a few extra times on a laggy host.

Personally, don't think I've used the GI once on PC... and I'm all the better for it.

 

Lancer QFI though

 

 

I had a few games with the Lancer QFI taking damage over duration... noticed no difference. Think it'd be more apparent/matter more with a sniper or a shotgun. Something where you're dealing non-consistent but high damage. I deal consistent medium damage and notice no difference taking duration over damage. It might make me kill an enemy in one or two shots less than normal, but that's about it.

TBH, a well played GI makes almost any gun work. I have witnessed GI with Talon, Piranha, Claymore, Hurricane, etc and the players destroyed the enemy. However, a well played Javelin GI has to be the most ridamndiculous kit in terms of damage. Specced properly, you can get over a 20k headshot, which is insane. I'm probably wrong, but that's been my observation of the game. I just don't think saying Javelin or BW not being high DPS kits is a fair statement. But correct me if I'm wrong

I agree, I'm not a fan boy either. I'm not very good with that setup. I like the Piranha or Claymore more personally. I just don't think that the aforementioned not high DPS kit is not true, but again I'm a scrub, so I'm probably wrong.

but seriously....you will get lucky here and there with randoms... I used to just search for lobby's that had at least 1 competent looking player in them  ( <-------funny enough..I was fooled quite a bit)...any thing more than 1 really good player is just a bonus.

The way pugs play, it is pretty much stick together ( and die together in a revivechain ) and shoot the biggest thing you can find. There, see, teamplay.

the only time PUGs i join act in a quasi team like fashion  ( well almost the only time) is on Glacier because you can't run away from each other. 

 

but to be fair even when i play with friends we're all scattered to the wind

Pugs doing the revive chain is just there way of embracing eternity and expressing their affection by dying on top of each other's corpses.

Incendiary ammo is not the cure all to all of your ails.

 

Try cryo ammo.

 

Also instead, try it on the Trooper as opposed to the GI. For that sick Fortification buff.

Yep it's very true.

 

Another one to add to the list:

 

Krogan Warlord.

 

A PUG (with the BotB banner) was using one with a Claymore.

 

They were sync killed about 6 times by Phantoms.
