Hi!

Usually I've been able to take screenshots with 'Printscreen' and then find them the screenshot folder, but all of a sudden they don't show up in the folder anymore.
Does anyone have a suggestion to what I can do about it?

I have the same issue. After some internet digging though, I found out I could take screenshots with windows key+print screen. Not much of a fix since if you press the print screen key too late, you'll tab out and mess up the opportunity. But at least I could make them again.

I'd check the controls settings whether the appropriate keys are still set to take pictures. If that doesn't work, my favourite solution is to use Fraps (or another screen capture program). The free version can take pictures in the JPG and BMP format and it works with all games I've tried so far.

I used to not want to use extra programs for this, but given how much trouble some games gave me and how much searching and tweaking it sometimes took to make it work, I just eventually tried it and I have never gone back. You just need to remember to have it turned on while playing (or set it to start with your computer).

Other people have been reporting that as well. Since the game has not been patched for a while, I suspect that it is either a Windows update or an Origins update that broke it.

Now that you said that... My bet goes to Origin.

Yeah I generally use Fraps for when creating screenshots. Haven't made any lately but that's moer down to the fact I don't really have any new characters on the go that I want to take screenshots of.

Indeed. Looking at your avatar reminds me that I started using the program because of Mass Effect, actually. ME2 in particular. The whole franchise was a real pain to set up to be somewhat screenshot friendly. Eventually, I just grew tired of tweaking the games' system files and figuring out how to do it in the first place and went for Fraps. And I was so happy with the program that I ended up buying the full version, so now I can make videos in great quality, too. I use it all the time since I love to make pictures and vids of all my games.

I decided to load up the game to check this....printscreen worked ok to take a screenshot. I have Origin updated, so I wonder what's causing this all of a sudden for some people?

I still think it might be Origin. It's just like some bugs or glitches - some people are affected by them, some don't.

At least it's more probable to be Origin than Windows, since I doubt everyone with problems have the same version.

I'll repost the same answer I gave in the EA Answer HQ:

I'm not entirely sure what caused it, but this happened to me when I ran DAI in admin mode for use with the DAI Cinematic Tools, and also dramatically increased the resolution with the Windowed Borderless Gaming app. I spammed the screenshot button, but they did not appear in the screenshot folder.

BUT I finally did find them in the main DAI installation folder, at
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition

You might want to check there. If they're not there, I can't offer any other suggestions.

OT, but why would you want to run DAI in admin mode “for use with DAI Cinematic Tools”?

Because the very first line of the README.txt says you have to?

1. Make sure Origin and Dragon Age are running with administrator rights.

Ah, OK, it has always worked fine for me without doing so, though.
