I've been away from Inquisition for a while now, and decided to get back into it. I really enjoy the game mechanics, especially with the flexibility in party composition.

Since I've been out of it for a while, can anyone help me get up to speed with what was fixed? I remember some annoying things like the bobble-head elves, noodle-arm male elves, detached arms with certain armor attachments and non-human broken arm when closing rift issues. Any chance these were fixed?

Anyway, thanks, and sorry if this info is buried somewhere in the forums (search isn't that great...).

I had no idea all the patch notes were copied into the Wiki. Nice, thanks for the link.

I'm also back to the game after some time; i did some playthrough when the game was new, including a nightmare one, then i played something else and come back now after installing the new DLC, but i noticed that two annoying bugs havent been fixed.

One is the mad bull: when you target someone with charging bull and, unless you do an attack in the exact moment you impact the target your warrior will keep running until hits some immovable obstacle or runs out of breath. It has been fixed for non controlled chars but you cannot tell the war to charge then switch to another char to do something requiring some fine control.

The other one, very annoying, is that sometimes the char remains frozen and the only way i found to unfreeze him is to go out from tactical and hit jump command, any other command i tried is not executed.

I'm a tactical screen with paused game player and it's no fun to tell the war to lunge n slash an opponent, move the rogue and realize the warrior is still back

Maybe there is a workaround to avoid this but i havent been able to realize what causes the freeze or another way than a funny jump to go out of it.

A couple unrelated questions:

Are mounts still near useless? i remember using them just to walk around in the hissing wastes or to take some short way jumping mounted down some mountain because you dont die if you fall a couple hunderd meters if you are on a horse.

Are sigils, the runes for armor, useful? It looks like the penalties are too huge compared to the bonuses

You are expected to do an attack at the end, so my guess is it's working as intended. They did add an alternative upgrade, Light On Your Feet, that lets you turn more.

The workaround is to jump. Everyone is getting hit by this bug.

No change to mounts. Well, except that if you add the Qunari Spoils DLC, some of the mounts get bugged and will crash the game when summoned.

First, they are removable, so you can transfer them to another armor. That makes them slightly more useful than runes.

Second, there's a thread that discusses which ones are useful. IMO only the Great Bear one is useful, but some people like Bronto, Deepstalker or Tusket in special circumstances.

Mounts are useful for jumping off cliffs without taking fall damage. And also climbing cliffs. Physics? B*tch I'm a horse.

True that i'm supposed to attack at the end, but also true that if you miss the moment to attack you have no way to stop the run. I just had my tank run some 20 30 meters, twenty not two, after hitting the target and fall in the void of the Deep Road with me trying to stop him right clicking and giving commands like War Cry; no fun.
Having the bull stop after hitting his target, and do nothing but auto attack if attacked, or at least be able to stop the run not just the exact moment you impact the target, would IMHO have more sense

The workaround is to jump. Everyone is getting hit by this bug.

And more than ten patches havent fixed it :(

I think, judging from the videos posted, it's because most players dont use a lot the tactical but play real time

No change to mounts. Well, except that if you add the Qunari Spoils DLC, some of the mounts get bugged and will crash the game when summoned.

Good to know even if i have just the three main DLCs: Deep Roads, Hakkon and Trespasser and played ATM just Deep Roads; the others just looked cosmetic

Grat Bear looked the best to me too, combined with those abilities that replenish mana/stamina on kills/crits. I'll give a look at the link you posted.

Being able to remove and reuse them is good to know; i'make a few try myself also considering that my hard campaign has become a breeze

Last question:

I read somewhere that the gold nug statue, that if i remember is the thing inside the misterious expensive box you buy at the top store of Val Royeaux, allows to share schematics and recipes beetween different playthroughs.

That means that my new character will have the schematic of the uber weapon i just got in the deep roads? Even if crafted with iron, cotton and nugskin it will be a huge lot more powerful than anything i can get in the hinterlands unless i need to have the gold nug in both playthrough that means having 10k to spend thats a lot for a new char.

The golden nug is next to the black smith in Haven, in the undercroft at skyhold.

The Golden Nug and that nug which you can buy at Val Royeaux are two different things. The latter is starting war table mission for additional mounts.

The Golden Nug which allows you to share schematics is located where SandiKay0 (and also later in Trespasser). Just remember you have to be online for it to work. Also, first sync must be with post-main game character. After that all schematics (and some collections) you aquired are stored in something that resembles online database connected to your profile. Whenever you interact with the Golden Nug, character gets all schematics from there (at the same time they remain in that online database) and adds anything new that they possess. Tier 1 schematics don't sync.

What you mean for 'post main game' ? I just got the DLCs and till now i tried only the Deep Roads one and i'm delaying the final battle with coripheus because i noticed i miss a couple achievements of the vanilla game and i want to do them now.

Anyway i understood i need to be in Skyhold to use the nug so no way to have my lvl 4 char using a cheap copy of the uberarmor i got with the other

EDIT

I have seen what you mean.

I loaded a my old save after defeating Coripheus and the golden nug was in the smith at Skyhold

I sincronyzed, i loaded my current game and i gained a few thrones and banners

I loaded a game i just started, the nug was near the smith outside Haven, i syncronized and now my noob can craft a 329 dps Stone Stalker Blade.

Dunno but looks like cheating. With this weapon, a Deep Road armor, and similar stuff for my partners, Cassandra will have near 250 armor for example, untouchable by anything in the Hinterlands apart mages that will die with a single sword hit, even nightmare wont be that difficult.

If you're looking for a bit more challenge, turn on some of the trials that came with Trespasser. You can use them for the whole game, no need to wait till you get to the DLC. Just enable them under "options." They also have achievements associated with them under the Trespasser section. Some need to be turned on at character creation, however.

Even Ground will boost lower level enemies to your current level. Higher level enemies are unaffected. This allows you to always get XP when killing enemies.
Walk Softly will give random enemies extra HP or defenses/immunities (this makes lower levels pre-Skyhold much more challenging)
Take It Slow will half the rate at which you gain experience (prevents maxing out XP before the end of the game; almost necessary if using Even Ground).

Grizzly End will promote all bears.

Rub Some Dirt On It will reduce healing to 1 HP per health potion.

Travel Lightly (?) removes all supply caches from the game

There are a few more, including one that gives double disapproval points with everyone if they don't like what you do.

I've used the first 4 above in every game since they became available. NM + trials is a lot of fun. :)

Thus the great debate: use the GN and cheese, or use some self-imposed rules. Like no schematics higher than your current level + 3.

The GN is really useful for saving time on hard to get/need to farm schematics, though. Saved me literal hours. As long as you use it wisely, it doesn't cheese out the game.

Not true. If you miss, hit Tactical. You can then use an ability or even an auto-attack and it stops Charging Bull.

Yeah I don't normally play with the trials but I have to admit I'm tempted by the even ground one

That one can get a bit silly, however, especially if you are also using Walk Softly. Level 22 fennecs (or nugs ) that are immune to everything (but that you have to kill to get out of combat mode) are just wrong.

I tried dont remember if EG or WS with my new NM playthrough and found a Lvl 8 elite templar with some lvl 4 friends, on the road to the lake camp; my party was lvl 4, it was just after meeting Giselle, so i had my ass served on a silver platter with potatoes and a big cucumber; a nice way to remember me to look at what i engage.

As always a bit of wisdom and self control is the right way to go. It's like those mobs that can easily be killed if you position a ranged in a place they cannot reach; first time when you discover it could be fun but in the long run it's cheesy.

Didnt know that going out from tactical you can stop the mad bull; thanks indeed

There is a command to exit combat, it's the last one to the right in the bar, J or K but not sure about that; i use it when i engage a fennec or a ram without killing, it happens at low levels, it and he start running away in an area with many rocks or trees where a ranged doesnt have a clear shot and i dont want him to run into the templar camp with my warrior chasing.

Unless obviously Superfennec realizes to be a couple lvls higher than you and become aggressive; fennecs are predators after all.

Walk Softly also gives enemies new abilities, including the leaping smash or whatever it's called, which can be rather devastating as they tend to be smart enough to home in on Vivienne (who always is the mage in my team). Also, archers using leaping shots, which pretty much can one hit kill my char if she has no barrier.

It was probably WS. Even clearing the Crossroads to get to Giselle can be difficult if you get too many mages with promoted barrier or the shield Templars who also have uber guard. In my last NM game, one of those shield guys took out everyone else and my DWer was left to run away and hide. I think I reloaded.

Are you talking about the Disengage command? That works to stop companions from running off to get killed, but I've yet to see it take a critter with a wild hair up its behind about something out of combat mode. It still shows up as a crazy red dot on my mini-map, running around like a kook.

Does it? I guess I only noticed those leaping smasher guys in Trespasser and figured it was just an ability they had.

I've only seen leap attacks in Trespasser myself, never outside. I have seen plenty of Charging Bull and Leaping Shot in the main game with Walk Softly enabled. Being on the receiving end of Leaping Shot sucks big time.

Yeah, not a big fan of the enemy Charging Bull either....I got bowled over so many times it was ridiculous. They already have uber guard and 9 million hit points...how is adding that fair?!
