After the 'upgrade outage' my link BioWare forum link just takes me to a the BioWare home more or less.  From this forum if I click on the 'The BioWare Forum' link at the top it does the same thing.  How are we supposed to dance around back and forth in their forums?  Anyone else having issues?

Can you explain that again? I'm not sure if I understand, the BioWare logo on the top left of the page always took you back to the root of the forum did it not?

Near the top of the page is the thread links 'The BioWare Forum'...'Mass Effect'...'Mass Effect Andromeda'....'General discussion'

Previously if you clicked on the 'The BioWare forum' link it would take you to the base forums page showing all of the BioWare fourms, now it takes you to base BioWare page with no access to forums at all.

My saved bookmarked page via firefox used to take me to the base forums page now does the same thing, takes me to the base Bioware page.

Takes me to the base board with forum access. It's not very likely that a simple link would be wiped out during maintenance time. That stuff isn't really MySQL based. They'd have to mess with the template files.

Well something has changed for me I'll guarantee you that.

My link boomkarked link takes me here:  http://social.bioware.com/

I would then click on "The BioWare forum" large icon  (the others being dragon age keep, N7 headquarters and bioware blog.'  The BioWare forum click would take me to the list of all BioWare forms and I could then choose which forum to go to.  Now instead it takes me here: http://www.bioware.com/en/

Almost sounds like a caching issue, at best. Although, caches are usually aesthetics.

I can't think of too many cases where browsers would get links confused.

Ah okay, now I understand what you mean. It is likely your DNS doing that as we made a couple changes to it today. Depending on your DNS cache that should eventually go back to normal.

Did the rules change regarding posting pictures? I tried and got a message that I lack authorization or some such.

This  http://forum.bioware.com/forum/ used to take you to the overall forums page in which you could choose which forum to then go to. now it just gives you the following message : Sorry, we could not locate the page you are requesting to view. Please click here to return to the community index

However there is no working link in the click 'here' part.

When I clicked your link I get sent to here:  http://www.bioware.com/en/ For some reason it does not pick up the ? in the link.

I just copied and pasted your link instead and it worked for me.  Something did change but I can can manage now that I have been able to book mark the copied and pasted link.
