I can't seem to figure out the Swashbucke skill on my Duelist. It never activates (lights up) does it do anything?

 

EDIT: So I rebooted my PS4 and now it does at least light up as an ability but I can never get the coins to fill in. Even when I solo so I know I am doing it myself. Very weird. I think she may be bugged on my system. I notice when I am home screen and have her selected as a character she is almost always missing/invisible.

^^ No Elusive, no Swashbucke... Plain and simple...

Use Bolt to put Vendeta on foes, then use Flashing Steel (generates 1 elusive coin per target but can hit multiple targets) and/or Flank Attack (generate 2 Elusive coins per target but can only hit one target)

Swashbuckle seems overkill and hated it when it misses.  This is what it was like with me when I have Swashbuckle.  Oh I got this 2800% super one shot killing ability... am I going to use it on a wraith?  No I am going to save it for the big guys.  So here I am hoarding my elusives.. and there he is!  I am so going to wipe the floor with you!   Don't move.. don't move.. there!  Mother...f......  now I have to go collect my elusives again...

 

Someone pointed out ambush on the other thread made duelist really fun!   Loving ambush because if you miss.. you get to try again without triggering anything.

I was wondering about something like this. When I was playing Elementalist earlier, sometimes I would have no cool downs for all my spells. I could cast until I ran out of Mana, and it happened on more than one run. I don't assume that is normal? Do you know what triggered that by chance?

 

 

Between the 3000+ hours playing DAI SP and now this, they have seen some action!

Just wanted to say, if you Vendetta a group of tightly packed foes, you can hit more than one target with Flank Attack.  At least, you can steal more than one Vendetta for 4 stacks of elusive immediately.  I never really paid attention if you damage everyone, however.

I played that build only once and was just reading from talent description when i wrote this. Will definitely test that.

I know that flank attack could hit 2 different targets, but I don't think I have seen it hit 4 targets and generate 4 elusives.   But then if I see 4 targets cluster together I would have used flashing steel instead so I probably never tried it.

When you are able to throw out a Swashbuckle every 5 seconds or so, with everything around you primary target exploding along with it, it hardly matters if you are attacking a Wraith or a Pride Demon.

I got Valus Altredum in a NM dragon drop last night. Easily the best long sword in the game IMO. I used it for half a dozen matches and will continue to do so but just until my sword challenge is completed. Bitter Axe is still the better weapon.That being said I like Valus because of the guard on hit which means I can use Istunoll as my shield.

 

However, even with Valus's +5 guard on hit, you still generate way more guard with Mage Hunter (+3) and Bitter Axe because of the chain reaction kills. Also, Bitter Axe used correctly really, really speeds up Templar's kill and can be a "life saver" when being swarmed. And if you are fighting demons its a "holy terror" (pun intended). And you can add a Haft to Bitter Axe for a Heal on Kill.

I think the Bitter axe is the best single hander in the game besides the Hakkon and the Hakkon only shines once you have decent Cunning promotes.

Its funny because Templar is by far my fav warrior to play but since I have been working with Valus to  finish my sword challenge I realise that I would have not played her nearly as much if I had not found Bitter Axe so early on. It's night and day without it.

Hakkon Honor was my first Hakkon and I had it when my cunnings were like 20.   I shelved it after a match and switched back to Bitter Axe until much much later...

I feel so bad. Last night I was in a NM match with two high level elementalist and it was a dark spawn run. We were at 4/5 and were huddled together taking down the onslaught of  bolters... we were almost done and BOOM!  We had a power outage and of course I was disconnected. I sure hope they got through ok.  The damn outage lasted over three hours!  I was so mad!

I have everything on a UPS as well, sadly it was a major outage and the  even the cable/internet relay systems lost power. I lost a PS3 once due to a power failure so I put everything on a UPS even my telly.

Just a reminder to the people that I run with. If you need to talk to me its best to text me or start a party. I lose the game sound so much now that I have to just play sans sound quiet a bit but I can still hear in party mode.

I gave MP a break yesterday and played SP all day. I really missed it. Esp having 8 spells and my own crafted weapons/armour. And of course the romance and great story.

You and coldie talked about Trespasser and Golden Nug and such the other nights.... I don't even have any of the add-ons.. and wasn't even half way thru the original sp story...    One weekend I saw the banner saying about weekend event going on.. so I tried out MP and haven't gone back yet....

I downloaded the free trial of this game from origin with unlimited multiplayer and like 4 hours of single player and have never once entered single player haha.
