 just sitting there (with the red X) and he/she never joined. As soon as the match was over and XP was awarded he left the lobby.

the only time I wait to join is when I am switching char to better suit the team [ ok fine - more like so we can open all doors - NEED GOLD  ].

 

I am way more likely to jump in way fast [ ie: leave pac belt on lvl 1, not assign skills etc ] than sit there on my arse. How boring.

 

Do they get gold and items? They cant possibly. Just XP right -  Maybe we can test this out this weekend.....

I knew this was possible because there have been times I have joined a match and never made it to the fight because it ended before I could connect and I did get gold and XP.  Seems to me someone could just camp out on Peri/NM/HB game lobbies and clean up and never do anything.

 

What makes me more cross about it is that he/she is keeping legit players from joining and helping out.

Also  - I know this is not the thread but I found it funny. I was in a meeting yesterday at work and something went my way. I said " Thank the Maker" so fast and so loud. It was literally the first thing that popped into me head. People were like wth did you just say.....

Because, in the hundreds of games I've played, I have invariably not joined a game before the game has ended a few times while picking a character or switching items etc. In fact this just happened the other day and the other two players gained XP and levels while I'm pretty sure I still sat there at level 1. I don't recall it happening recently but there probably has been times where I gained XP from it but I'm not sure.

Same here, I have beaten myself countless time for not getting in the match in time to get the free xp.   Now there maybe a way to get xp by enter the game really quick and exit out and find the lobby again and camp there.   I have seen people who got xp when they crashed out and rejoin the lobby but not in time to enter game before it finishes.

Discovered a new way in which people are "leeching". (Well maybe not new, just firs time I noticed.) I noticed this guy/gal yesterday doing this in Peri. What he/she would do is after the match starts, they will join the lobby but never actually join the match. I know this because obviously at the end of the match a mysterious person would show up on the board who added no XP him/herself. And as before the next match would start he/she would leave. Later I noticed there were a lot of 3 people games and I was wondered out of curiosity if anyone was joining to come help, so I brought up the lobby view and low and behold there was the same guy/gal just sitting there (with the red X) and he/she never joined. As soon as the match was over and XP was awarded he left the lobby.

Lol you only just noticed? As Silver said, people have been doing it since they found out they could. It's why a mic is important: when you notice, you can call 'em out. Sometimes we've even stopped going to the flag until they come into game. Or leave.

This got to be console only.  I don't think you could do it on PC?  I have never once got xp sitting in the lobby too late to join...

So anyone know what I did to anger Timbo_Slice? He gave me a red skull in game today ?  Was just playing archer and doing my job so I don't know what in game it could have been.

 

 

EDIT: I have asked him twice directly and has not answered so I just assume he doesn't like me for some perceived slight or I am not playing the way he wants me to,

Exactly.. it doesn't necessarily show up until you change characters.

I honestly don't understand all these red skulls.  I play on PC, mostly nightmare and perilous and play PUGs about 1/3 of the time it seems like.  I don't think I have gotten a red skull in .. maybe ever.

I play PUGs nearly 90℅ of the time (crazy right?) and have gotten red skulled maybe three times. The more obvious way to tell if other players don't want to play another game with you is if you're sandbagging and killing everything because everyone else is doing 60 damage per attack and then everyone leaves afterwards.

Meh I don't know what his problem is. He has been playing a lot longer than I have (MP) so he should be pretty hardened to people who don't play like him or the way he wished they would play. I just hope I didn't do something accidentally that set him off. Oh well, hope he stops being annoyed and just play the game.

Agreed. We PC players are either more civil, or more afraid of conflicts. Select your pick .

Don't believe I've ever played with Timbo, wait maybe a couple times but very long ago.  He likely has you blocked so doubt he'll be responding to any messages you send.  More often then not it was something that you did to a friend of his that he didn't like.  That or he doesn't like you and that will not likely change anytime in the foreseeable future.

 

That or its a new way of saying hi, red skull him back.  Should lead up to some interesting banter.

You know now that I think back, I think I remember what did it. One time I joined a Peri darkspawn match as a low level SS and right as I got there everyone (including him) was in the process of dying (due to everyone playing level ones if I remember correctly). I tried to revive him but the boss used its lyrium death ray on me and I went through my two health potions in like 2 seconds so I had to hide behind cover. By that time Timbo had expired. Then I was able to kill off the boss because it couldn't use that attack for a few more seconds. I think he was resentful I didn't revive him but there was absolutely no way I could have without dying and losing the match altogether.

Is there a bug with the Hakkon's Honour sword? I noticed while using it that it's not counting towards my sword challenge? Finally have a sword that I like and its bugged. My level 27's are working fine.

Yes and all others as well. None of the Hakkons count towards their respective weapon kills challenge. You will also notice you don't get weapon kill medals at the end of games either unfortunately.
