FOUR matches in a row tonite, we battle through and it just happens to be Qunari and in 5/5 each time lost connection to network. So I wasted all that freaking time and nothing to show for it. Come on EA hire some god damn competent network engineers.  Really pisses me off.  /rant

Damn, bad luck.  I had it happen to me once and I remember thinking that if it happens again, I'm calling it a night.

Heh if I get 2 disconnects in middle of match in a row, I would have called it a night.  Someone doesn't want me to play. :D

Two Quick Questions....

I have noticed that when battling a Saarebas (esp a powerful one) sometimes after you kill him (like 1-2 seconds later) something happens and whoever battled him (be it a group or single person) lose all their health and will sometimes die seemingly for no reason. Is this some residue effect from killing the Saarebas?

What is with the thing that happens when you enter a new area? It sounds like you have jumped or been hit as soon as you enter a new area and sometimes some of your health will disappear. Last night at stage 5/5 well all entered the door at FULL heath and when we entered the 5/5 area ALL of our health has disappeared and eventually we all died before we could even reach the area to plant the banner. So the level hung as no one could place the banner. WTF is that?

1. Working as intended

2. Fall damage from randomisation of areas (when you get the small cutscene) Linked entrances are not all the same height and why the cutscene was introduced after a patch.

The Saarebas drops a bunch of puddles that deal quite a bit of spirit damage per damage tick and they often last after the Saarebas has been killed.  Best way to counter it is to avoid it, but if that isn't an option, down a spirit resistance tonic.

It's a known issue.  Most times (for me) it doesn't deal any real damage.  I think it's due to everyone being spawned above the map during the zone transition animation, then falling during the animation.  Sometimes the resulting damage from it isn't negated, hence going into a zone and losing almost all of your health.

Whats really funny is when new players don't know what happened and they just go off

5. My handle on the game is “Autumn_Witch” which seems fairly easy to put together that I am female. Right? Yet the things that come out of some people’s mouth’s are quite funny and embarrassing. Last night two lads had a nice long conversation about “masturbation techniques” while we were playing.  (I have lost my mic so I can’t speak BTW). One guy last night was talking to another about me and actually said, “Autum_Witch was to be a dude cuz he plays too good.”  I don’t know if I should be insulted or complimented. Both? XD

Well as dishonest as that may have been, I don't see what that really has to do with my situation its not like l was trying to chat people up. And unless he was meeting these people offline IRL he could have been a three headed zombie from Venus and it really would have no bearing on how the game is played would it? Unless he became friends with these women and/or men and somehow used it against them. I suspect there is more to the story than I am getting tho....

Oh well not that big of a deal I suppose was just a casual observation and it would seem to me to always assume you are in mixed company until otherwise sure that way one does not embarrass one's self or make other people uncomfortable, but alas tis the state of the interwebs these days me thinks. People pretty much just say and write whatever they like.

I finally played two promotions with Reaver. I like her a lot, SUPER powerhouse. I was about to give up on Templar because I just couldn't find a nice set of offensive abilities that I could find a good rhythm for. So I went and dropped her high level shield for a much lower one that gives me guard on hit and that did the trick. Played a whole promotion with her and FINALLY found what I was looking for as far as speed. Much happier with her now.

Oh and been meaning to say this for a while. "THEATRE TICKETS?" We are out there battling hordes of demons and darkspawn and Josie wants to reward us with THEATRE TICKETS???????   Yea, she'll do that ONE time.  Really? SMH

Better than getting the 'no casualties' line when there's only one person left standing out of a match of 4 people...

I like the disembodied voice that thanks the Maker for your arrival after the NPC's been killed by the enemy or dragon :P

When you craft a Dragon Call why does it give you the utility stats? Do they actually do anything?

Nope.  They're just there to make it seem more useful than it is

Few more quick questions

I have seen a few rogues running around with guard. Is this an ability function or weapon?

I have noticed on my crafting materials once they get to 255 they stop. But I have used them and the total doesn't decrease. Is this a bug or by design?

I have noticed when most people (that I have seen anyway) create an FC match, they will almost always choose a Frost Dragon. Are they easier to deal with or just a quirk I have seen?

Savage Thorn gives Guard on hit.  They're most likely using that.

255 is the highest that the counter will go, though it isn't the highest amount of any one material that you can have.

Frost dragon is easiest due to the lack of damage over time effects, though its spit does have an annoying knock-down effect.  Storm is the hardest due to how much damage its lightning spit does when you're in the AoE.  Fire is in the middle since the fire doesn't do as much damage.

That is the Savage Thorn dagger most likely.  http://dragonage.wik...ki/Savage_Thorn

Yep, frost is considerably easier.  When it hits you, it mostly just slows you down and the ground effects seem to clear off quickly.  Lightning arcs around to find you and fire is also a bit painful.  It impacts both the projectiles the dragon belches at you, as well as their resistances.

Anyone else ever feel this way?

Late at night when I have all the lights off IRL and do a solo run through the Chateau it gets kind of creepy feeling when you destroy all the baddies esp when I walk around and look at all the stuff on the walls. Just scary vibes being in that big house with all that death. If you play the SP game, there is a really good and very creepy quest where you get stuck in a remote, haunted Orlesian Mansion and have to battle your way out.

Also, when I solo an FC fun, on that one stage with the two barrier doors downstairs, I stay down there and pick the baddies off as they come to get me down the ladder. But again, when you are there all alone, and you hear the dragon land on the building right above you and growling and all of that, it's quite unsettling. If you imagine how you would feel IRL in that situation, quietly hiding in the shadows, waiting for all the baddies to come get you and the huge beast right above you mad as hell. Its really fun if you let your imagination go.

There are rumours about that somewhere in one of the MP locations there is a really nice hidden treasure that is not marked. So when I solo I poke around everywhere. You would be surprised how much stuff that is actually interactive other than just the treasure pots.

I got to play a level on Perilous as an "immortal" tonite thanks to some random glitch. Not only could no enemies hurt me (at all, I didn't even have a health metre), a single shot form my staff would kill anyone, Chain lightning, pretty much wiped out everyone in the room. At one point there was a person on the mic who said, "holy sh**, who the hell is this Keeper?" Sadly it was a Vint run. Would have taken much joy if it had been Qunari.
