If I have a Dragon's Call and nobody is racing for the door I will use it on perilous and above.  (Still need quite a few dragons)  Granted if someone sprints straight for the door to area 4 I won't bother as I figure the next zone is most likely going to wipe due to lack of patience, especially if it's darkspawn.

 

Kind of surprsied a few folks last night, started running with a few people with stats in the 50's (granted mine are only in the 30's) they were all shocked my stats were so "low" due to my prestige.  Shocked them even more to find out I usually only play an hour a night and for some reason I am highly durable.

 

Oh and AutumnWitch, sorry for the connection drop saturday night at FC zone 5, at least I assume that was the issue as I've never seen you leave a match like that.

I would never leave a zone 5/5 on purpose. I am sure it was a "server migration" error.  I have left matches before (only twice) once when someone was being really vulgar on the mic and another person was just ignoring the whole crew and not stopping for anything and was so overpowered the rest of us were not able to kill one target. So everyone left.

Just for the record I will shield spam any NM or HB FC runs with my Saarebas any time on two conditions.

 

1. We call the Dragon (I can bring the call if you don't want to)

 

2. You keep an eye on me just in case I get overwhelmed in my hiding places. I can keep most things at bay and even on NM take some out on my own (but it will interrupt the shield casting) , but would rather have some back-up. (Except another enemy Saarebas which interrupts my casting and seems bug the hell out of me. I honestly think he is randy for a female Saarebas. (Perhaps I think about this stuff to much?))

I would never leave a zone 5/5 on purpose. Can someone explain to me how the health bar thing works for our characters? I have noticed that some players have many segments but some (even those playing on NM/HB only have two?) I had assumed each segment means more health but seeing those people playing with just two has me confused.

They are wearing pact belt (increase elemental damage but cut your HP in into 1/4).

Keep forgetting to thank all of you who recommended Heart of Pride for my Saarebas over Fisher King. Yes now that I have used it more it does seem better. Thanks!

I also use Heart of Pride in my Saarebas even having a Hakkon. Hakkon on all other mages though.

That's a pie there is not a 'Heart of Rage' for the Elementalist. Together with the Inferno belt it would be crazy.

That's why I am not very eager to get the Hakkon Wisdom.   I feel like I would still be using the Heart of Pride on my Saarebus even with the Hakkon.   And Saarebus is the only mage I play pretty much these days.

Too many mage abilities cannot utilize the crit damage boost, because they cant crit as well.  But, you do get two upgrade slots on the Hakkon, so that would be nice.

 

I agree, though, that isn't the one I am most anxious to get.  But, then again, the bow and dagger are both rogue-specific, and at some point many people quit playing rogues.  It is too bad that the Silent Sister wasn't correctly categorized as a warrior for promoting purposes.

Ability that can't crit at all is Blizzard (Necro and Sare's Itwa finishing). Burning DoT doesn't crit, but first direct hit does on multiple targets. Same goes with Chain Lighting abd Stonefist's secondary targets. Heart of Pride utilizes Gathering Storm passive due to 50% attack speed and it's basic attack damage is very close to Hakkon's due to 48 Willpower and faster attack animation. Hakkon Staff shines with abilities when you have high crit chance. When i got Hakkon Staff it was very hard to adjust to slow speed attack. 

Heart of Pride is best suited to support Sare, but if you go with damage build, Hakkon is better. Same goes with Keeper. But this is just mine subjective feeling...

But I am thinking you don't really want to do a super damage Saarebus.   If you kill them before they have a chance to hit everybody's barrier and shield block, you will lose xp!    So you really want a Saarebus with low willpower and a heart of gold pride to be in your NM xp game!  Wait.. that's me!  "Pick me pick me"

Never cared about XP generate. TBH, never knew how to play that way.    I played Sare as support when i had low stats, but now i don't take Barrier. I even play my Legio withoiut War Cry and Livid, only WF for defence.

I shield spammed a few NM matches last night and in one they failed because the same person kept opening treasure rooms and running away letting the revenant run about and join the attack.

1 - Why open the TR rooms in NM by yourself?

 

2 - Why run away and not face the music?

 

Both times the damn thing came for me and I did kill it eventually BUT I had to stop spamming shield AND all the commotion drew attention to us so all the baddies came to mess with me!

1. - Nowdays I almost always open treasure room dors on NM by myself because I can handle guardians. I only skip them if team needs help.

2. - That person was either trolling or is utterly stupid.

Upgraded barrier and static charge helps a lot.   I used to have it and it helps a lot on reducing damage and redirecting them to others.  I don't take it anymore...because I am usually standing next to the Lego.. and if I put them to sleep, they can't hit our barrier or his shield block.. LOL... yeah dark side and such.....   I try not to freeze them either unless they are mages...  because if they are frozen... they can't attack us.    I spent them last 6 months trying to get the enemies not to hit me... and I am probably going to spend the next 6 months trying to get them to hit me as much as possible... LOL

You will reach the point when you don't care if you are hit or not. And then yung aprentice, you will be fully converted to the dark side...

Nothing really hurts me when I am hit except for the Qunari rogues who have barrier breaker and the red templar dudes that have lyrium that ignores barriers. Or a mage who uses a glyph under me. Otherwise I just stand there and watch them faint from the shock, which is really funny animation BTW.

 

My issue is at some point (when the numbers increase) I have to wipe them all out and while I do that I have to alternate spamming shield which hurt the team which I don't like doing.

^^ Well, you will still help your team, but in different manner. But for that to work you will need  at least 100 in all your stats.

Just to add this... Your team will take much less pressure when you are killing lots of mooks quickly.
