You know sometimes I think BW gave us SS and Saarebas not because they thought they were particularly good characters to have (which they are for sure) but because they didn't have to hire voice actresses...

I've been saying this since Pala first arrived.  :P The game was already on its way out, after all. One of the devs responded by saying they don't need an excuse to add a badass female dwarf to the game, which I thought was an interesting excuse.  :D

Special thanks to Sophloph! Last night he played Saarebas and let me play my Templar on NM. Was a blast and had lots of fun!

I also learned how good the Saarebas power glyphs are, so I will change my Saarebad build to include them when I spam shield as well.

Good times!

Anytime! IMO with any group of 30+ promotes/class and under 50/60 a Saarebas support is a must, and makes NM quite doable. Its nice to not have to spec some characters towards so much survivability and instead grab DPS points. BTW, my usual tactic once lvl 14 or so is to glyph off the bat, spam barrier while alternating between Asaara's Leap first, Lightning ring, barrier, and ice ring, lightning ring, barrier when you are in a circle of oncoming traffic. When things get iffy or if you are being targeted by enemies that quickly deplete barrier(I find most often obviously assassins are the worst, and Red Templar Knights are a close second) Leap the heck out of that area, find a secluded corner, pray, and keep the barrier going with lightning ring for increased speed. You can also sneak in a fire ring every other sometimes if others are able to hold aggro and you get in the combat circle of enemies, given they don't have fire resistance. It makes the Saarebas quite fun. Last thing I will throw in here is that I always run Heart of Pride staff but also equip winter's pact belt for decent frost leap damage through packs of enemies. The health difference is usually negligable as long as the barrier stays in effect.

LOL that cartoon reminds me of my MMORPG raids days.  When you have 70 people in a raid...the arguments got very heated.

Don't get aggro don't get aggro.. darn stupid mage!

Heal!! Need more Heal!!!

What do you think I am doing???

WoW? Ah, I miss those PC days...

Wait until you discover curse finisher on a boss.

You could probably fit that in if just spamming barrier. Barrier, Glyph, Ring and Curse until you feel comfortable trying more attack minded abilities.

Do not try and curse the Storm Dragon though ;)

For lower level people I think Asaara's Leap is a must for survivability, unless you run with a Smurf in the crowd ;-) But I did get to try out curse the other night and that was fun!

I actually started using the Inferno belt today, to give that fire from Athlok Burst a bit more kick.  It was tons of fun.  I usually run with Burst, Barrier, Glyph, and Ring .. sometimes drop Glyph or Burst for curse though.

This has probably happened before but not to me. So please ignore my amazement if it has.

I was doing a solo FC run with Assassin and was at stage 4/5. Since I was by myself I was lurking and striking and hiding and attacking and you know the drill. Well I was slowly heading my way along the right side under cover and reached that little alcove. As I got there I noticed a red dot right outside the door so I leaped out the door and went to attack. Low and behold the freaking HIGH DRAGON was there!  Scared the crap of me. I was NOT expecting her! She was just standing there like "how do you do?". Out of reflexes I hit her with hidden blades and the dragon's health metre popped up. Then I was like, ah ****, what have I done? (Note I did not call the dragon to start out with lol )

Luckily for me I hit her once again and she just few away.

Well...it´s her castle. She rightfully took it after she ate all the people living there and burned the hell out of it. You just come and walk in her living room!

After seeing the pics, I just have one question:  Does sleeping bomb help speed up the poison challenge? :P

So this was a new one.

We were on a Château run (outside) and I passed a treasure room but the door had already been opened. So I assumed one of the other players opened it as they ran by. I ran in anyway because I noticed a gold pot. While there I noticed the chest was still closed so I opened it. And that's when it got weird.

As soon as I opened it, the door (which I came in) slammed closed behind me and a damn Revenant pops up. My Keeper finally beats it and I take the gold. But guess what? The doors are still closed and locked (for a rogue!). So I am stuck in the damn room with no way to get out!  So I started calling the other players to help me. Thank goodness there was a rogue with us or she might still be there!

There were a few people on mic and they were like, "How the hell did that happen?"

And on top of that, pretty embarrassing for Keeper to get locked in a room. Huge cosmic magic, defeated by a simple door lock. Hmmphh

Since I was not finding anyone for a PUG I decided to do a solo FC run. But, since yesterday I got so tired of Darkspawn I decided I would just create the match and if it was Darkspawn I would just exit out and start over.... ready for this...ELEVEN times in a row guess what came up? You got it! Darkspawn! Yes ELEVEN!

Now I ain't no high faluting, fancy statistician... just a simple, ol' country historian, but I know enough to know that those odds are suspect at best!

I will try again after tea.

Yes :(

This is what I meant when I asked the odds of getting a faction so many times in a row.

I swear it's a bug where game gets locked on the same faction.

Seen it too many times for it to be just random.

Same here.  Sometimes I switch lobbies and still get the same faction again and again

I actually love the qunari (so much lightning damage) when I am on my AW.. and hated seeing venatori (stupid lightning immune mages).   And I love dark spawn (very few shields) on silent sister and hated red templar (too many shield dudes).   And of course I wish I could get 10 demons matches in a row... :D

Agree completely.  Although demons in NM can be a pain.. without the PI amulet.. :: grumble, grumble:: ;)

But terrors still knock you down when they did the tock-tock-tock thing even with PI.   So far as I know.. 2 things go right thru PI.. terror's tock-tock-tock and assassin's stun stab thingy.

Server must be really "quirky" today. For some reason it started giving me guard on hit with Isana's Song for a whole match. Quick match as you might expect. :D

Also, I bought a Superb chest today and every single item with in, except the potions of course, were purple items. Sadly only able to use one of them, but still a bit odd.

Ultra-Superb chest? Sadly I haven't seen one of those yet. Max 3, and at least one was a rune.

Would be nice to trade Reaver's warhorn for the "Tock-Tock-Tock" panic + immobilized would be great for damage!

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the world, 3 silent sisters couldn't generate guard....

Stand inside a AW or SS and you'll sometimes get guard/barrier when you shouldn't.

I was in a solo run so I know that wasn't the issue here.... that being said, I will try that in future to see what happens. :D

I can't remember this happening in a while.  It used to be almost a daily occurrence.  Anyone else?

Right now it's just Rampage not granting health with Dragon Rage on FC lvl 1 that I keep running into.

I am wondering, besides getting more XP, is there any real incentive to playing HB over NM? I only ask because I never see anyone playing HB.

Aside from doing 5 for prestige points, it's used by some for suicide runs for quick XP. Otherwise, gold is the same as NM :)
