Special thanks to Sophloph! Last night he played Saarebas and let me play my Templar on NM. Was a blast and had lots of fun!
I also learned how good the Saarebas power glyphs are, so I will change my Saarebad build to include them when I spam shield as well.
Good times!
Anytime! IMO with any group of 30+ promotes/class and under 50/60 a Saarebas support is a must, and makes NM quite doable. Its nice to not have to spec some characters towards so much survivability and instead grab DPS points. BTW, my usual tactic once lvl 14 or so is to glyph off the bat, spam barrier while alternating between Asaara's Leap first, Lightning ring, barrier, and ice ring, lightning ring, barrier when you are in a circle of oncoming traffic. When things get iffy or if you are being targeted by enemies that quickly deplete barrier(I find most often obviously assassins are the worst, and Red Templar Knights are a close second) Leap the heck out of that area, find a secluded corner, pray, and keep the barrier going with lightning ring for increased speed. You can also sneak in a fire ring every other sometimes if others are able to hold aggro and you get in the combat circle of enemies, given they don't have fire resistance. It makes the Saarebas quite fun. Last thing I will throw in here is that I always run Heart of Pride staff but also equip winter's pact belt for decent frost leap damage through packs of enemies. The health difference is usually negligable as long as the barrier stays in effect.
LOL that cartoon reminds me of my MMORPG raids days. When you have 70 people in a raid...the arguments got very heated.
Don't get aggro don't get aggro.. darn stupid mage!
Heal!! Need more Heal!!!
What do you think I am doing???
WoW? Ah, I miss those PC days...
Wait until you discover curse finisher on a boss.
You could probably fit that in if just spamming barrier. Barrier, Glyph, Ring and Curse until you feel comfortable trying more attack minded abilities.
Do not try and curse the Storm Dragon though
For lower level people I think Asaara's Leap is a must for survivability, unless you run with a Smurf in the crowd ;-) But I did get to try out curse the other night and that was fun!
