I've got it! So by the year 3000 if we're still around there is probably gonna be a **** ton of us like 40 billion. So by that time we need to have created self sustainable ships that will allow countless generations to survive as long as need be. We fire like 30 million of these ships in every direction, some stay in this galaxy, others travel for so long they literally enter a new galaxy, some will probably hit a black hole or a sun. Those that make it to a new planet will probably never see other humans again, and will probably be the start of an entire new race only knowing that they came from a place called earth. Therefore when Earth does get swallowed up by the sun it's legacy will continue to live on throughout the universe and maybe, just maybe other humans will one day meet up and compare histories, both having a documented Earth that they came from... Yea.

Shouldn't there be time for hundreds of thousands of trips back and forth between nearby galaxies before our sun became a red giant, much less burned out? From generation to generation, yeah, they might be be isolated barring entirely plausible breakthroughs in communications technology, but I seriously doubt that the hypothetical colonies would spend the rest of the solar system's lifespan without any communication with Earth or each other. And if anyone managed to hit a black hole or a sun then it'd most likely be because they were trying to. Neither one exactly comes out of nowhere.

And what exactly does this have to do with Andromeda again?

The thread has 'control' in its title, so it must be about what ending is canon.

Well, I'm pretty sure the Reapers ate most of the humans on Earth so there is only about 3 billion humans left on Earth compared to the 14 billion that were there before the Reapers invaded. By the year 3000 we would probably be only at 8 billion.
