Is there a bug in this side mission?  I could have sworn that I read the correct dateapad.  I was really looking for it, but when I got back to the Citadel and found the correct person I could never select her to give her the bad news.  This also happened with the Ceberus Cipher mission.  Now I know that I collected that, but the correct person was not selectable.  I finally had to buy them from the Specter terminal and then leave the Embassy area and then come back before I could select him and complete the mission.  I obviously couldn't do this for the widow because the datapad never shows up on the Specter terminal.

There are two datapads that get returned to different Asari in the Presidium Commons, so just to be certain, I'm going to list them both.

 

The first is found during the Attican Traverse: Krogan Team mission (with the Rachni) on a dead krogan.  That one goes to the Asari Ereba behind the counter at Nos Astra Sporting Goods.

 

The second is probably the one you're talking about is found on Lessus during the Kallini:  Ardat-Yakshi Monastery mission.  The dead asari you find it on is named Tasha Porae and the datapad goes to Weshra in the Presidium Commons.  Shes standing on the stairs that lead down from the Apollo Cafe towards the spot where Liara can be found.

 

The Cerebus Ciphers are found on the last N7 mission you are given.(N7:  Communications Hub) where you save Grace Sato.  Since we get the mission pretty late in the game, I find it's usually the last thing I have left to do on the Citadel and I remember during my first playthrough I was almost convinced I had missed it.  I've not encountered any bugs with any of these missions though.

I may have missed the first, but I know that I got the Ciphers.  Yet when I went to give the Ciphers to the C-Sec Officer I got no response.  I had to buy them from the Terminal and then leave and come back to the Embassies.  Only then was he selectable.

yeah. If theyr'e on the spectre terminal, you DID NOT collect them during the mission.

I have noticed that I can sometimes click on things and that doesn't actually collect them; that is, the option to click on them again is still there.  Perhaps this is what happened to you.  I usually do a second sweep of things before completely concluding the mission for that reason... just to make sure.  However, since the Communications Hub mission is one that ends automatically after the last enemy falls, I do another sweep of the entire base before activating the third coordinate just to make sure there are no other blue squares still active other than the console that activates the third coordinate.

That probably is the the problem.  I need to learn to do a last sweep before ending the scenario.
