Multiple of the Same Heroes in Hero List

I have a problem with having multiple of the same heroes in my Heroes list for all of the games. See screenshot: https://www.evernote...nzR0Gvp5srwnuqg

Now, when you click on any of those heroes, it tells you their class, how many world states they're being used in, etc. See screenshot: https://www.evernote...soPJyuuTREsvPlI

And I think the problem with there sometimes being multiple of the same hero comes from the old BSN network where it stores your heroes. But with these heroes in the Keep, what would be helpful in the event of a multiple character import would be to show the Level and playthrough time on the heroes, so you can see which of them is the most completed playthrough.

Right now I just guess and delete the others, but sometimes I end up deleting the most complete one, and have to modify my tapestry to make it follow my actual PT.

Not sure if this has been brought up before or not, but I didn't see anything, so sorry if this has already been posted and please just direct me to the solution :D

Hey there -

I've seen behaviour like that before, sometimes tied to importing characters into different DLCs (e.g. Witch Hunt) other than the main game - I think that DAO treats them as separate saves for each campaign, with different heroes that have identical information, so they get uploaded to the servers more than once.

For what it's worth, there's no difference in the Keep for any of those heroes, regardless of when or how they were uploaded - the only information the Keep uses is their name, race, class, gender, and origin.

The Keep doesn't import any plot state information from DAO or DA2, so any choices you may have made differently in each of them will still appear the same for any world state you create.  All world states in the Keep start with the same default state, and will need to be customized to reflect the choices you want for other titles - that allows you to both select any hero you want for it from DAO/DA2, and also to create a state different than any you actually played (e.g. one where everyone lives / everyone dies).

For DA:I, you can have the Keep automatically reflect your decisions in that game, but will need to import a "Playthrough" world state to an "Editable" state using the "World States" section, found under the "hamburger" menu (top left, looking like this =)

Hey Brian,

Ah, I see! Thanks! I remember reading/someone saying that the Keep didn't import actual save choices for DA:O and DA:2, but I felt like that they weren't default states when I went to them. I must have manually changed them at some point and forgotten. So we'll chalk this all up to user error haha.

That being said, would you say that it's safe to delete any of the duplicate heroes that are not being used in an active world state then?

Thanks again!

It is. I did this quite a few times.

Awesome! Thank you! :D

I feel like I should have known this by now, but I always just left it, but now it's feeling cluttered.
