...give multiplayer a try in ME:AMP?

Yes I will, but I hope the store keeps up with DLC items numbers wise. Someone who started playing in 2013 was already looking at 3,000-4,000 as opposed to 600-800 at the beginning. I did enjoy it though.

If there is a free trial, sure. But I don't currently pay for the PS4 network and I'm not going to start paying for it now.

Edit: If BW uses MP to progress the story, then I wish they would offer an alternative SP DLC (at low cost) so I can get the same information and corresponding game play. The thought of fighting waves and waves of enemies for hours and hours with no essential story progression simply does not interest me. I love story, not combat.

That's an idea which might work well, depending on the exact nature of MP in ME:A.

I really liked that they integrated ME3's MP maps as little N7 missions into SP. I wish they had done the same for the MP DLC maps. Would ahve liked to have more N7 missions in the SP campaign this way.

Yet another MP thread. I decided to write my opinion about it here.

For me, my interest in SP is not about smugness.

MP is fine with me so long as it does not interfere with SP progression and end-game choices. I prefer SP for story progression, and because I don't have the time for marathon on-line game sessions. SP is ideal for me because I can start it and stop it whenever I want to. That's what I want - it's just a preference issue for me.

For full disclosure, I have not yet played ME-3. I'm near to completing ME-2 (first run) and will begin ME-3 immediately after that with a save-file transfer (provided my Shepard survives). A forum member generously offered to help me go through MP so I can raise my EMS at the end of that game. However, he told me that the MP WA % boost is perishable - that it's value decreases when you don't play it for a while. That's crazy, if true. So I was advised to play MP near the very end of ME-3 in a marathon session, immediately proceeding the marathon-ending sequence. I don't have time for that kind of massive hardcore non-sense or pressure. Perhaps I'll feel differently if I can play ME-3 MP with a kind and patient soul who will teach me the ropes so I can enjoy it, boost my EMS to 90+, and get out of it asap. I want to finish the game, not extend it for another 20+ hours. I hope I was misinformed about the WA boost being 'perishable.'  I am most definitely not going to invest any more of my personal valuable time, and I am horrified that MP was essentially required (I see no other way to describe it) to get the destroy ending. We'll see. I prefer to spend my time with a second game.

I am not opposed to MP per se, and the feud between MP-only and SP-only is ridiculous. And it's not about smugness for me; it's about convenience and individual preference for how I want to play 'my' game. I do hope that Andromeda MP will not interfere with SP or be a requirement. I do hope that MP will be designed so that shy people like me can find an easy way to try it out and learn to enjoy it. I worry about the matching system so that I can find other gamers who are willing to help the newbies learn to enjoy it. It's the smug, hardcore, impatient, hyper-critical, and insulting gamers that cause me to stay away from even trying MP.

I should note that MP is not actually needed for Mass Effect 3 SP anymore. There was one thing that originally did have MP required, but it's since been fixed. It's also worth noting that even at launch the destroy ending could be gotten without MP, as could the other two. The MP simply makes it easier to get without doing a bunch of side stuff to boost your EMS.

That said while the MP readiness does degrade over time, you can raise it up very quickly. Only a few games and you'll go from 50%(the minimum) to 100%.

I will also throw out that as somebody who has played a lot of MP on a lot of games, the Mass Effect 3 community was absolutely fantastic. Easily one of, if not the best MP community I've ever been a part of. Not that we didn't have our share of idiots, but most people are awesome(even if really quiet on PC).

Of course for ME:A I'm going to advocate that MP and SP be 100% separate with no link, not even an optional one. People who aren't interested in MP should not feel compelled to do it for SP reasons.

Certainly. I ended up enjoying ME3's MP as much, if not more, than the SP after all.

No doubt I'll play it. I already have it planned out with a friend to start with me. He tells me if there's nothing like the Paladin available he will be heartbroken.

While not a huge fan of the mp in ME I'll still give it a try, who knows it might actually be really awesome.

Obviously. See signature. Don't know how long I'll stick with it. Probably not as long as ME3 or DAI, but at this point, nobody knows exactly what it will be like.

Before ME3 came out, I was vehemently opposed to MP. Then, I actually played the demo and found it fun. 2 maps,1 enemy. Floating sky high vanguards. Ahh, nostalgia.

I love story, not combat, but I do want MP to be wildly successful for those who love it.

Exactly I'm not against MP being there as an option for those that want it either I just have always preffered competing against the computer and progressing through an interesting story than playing MP. Not to mention my disability makes it hard to compete with most others on a competitive level whereas the easy/casual settings of Bioware's games seem to be playable at my level and fully enjoyable as well. I've always been more interested in Bioware's stories than the combat anyway. The fact that the combat on easy is not frustrating I consider  a good thing. I play games to enjoy them not to get frustrated by them.

Nope. I won't touch multiplayer. Never touched the ME3 multiplayer either. I am not big on multiplayer because I am not a fast thinker and that is not a good arena if you don't think quickly. I certainly endorse it being present though as that makes a game appeal to a much broader audience.

I will certainly try it. Probably even before the SP, and if it's anything like ME3MP, it will probably be quite a while before I complete any SP playtrough.

I wasn't horrible at it, but I only did it because I was forced to, and I'd only likely do it again because of the same reason. I am not keen on teaming up with random strangers. It's not what I buy these games for.

I will try like I tried the one in ME3 but I hope they won't bother too much with it.

It got boring after a while and if they will tie it up with main story then it'll be one point against buying the game for me.

I wish if they wouldn't bother with MP at all and just focus on the main game and then later as a DLC include MP for those who want to play it.

I was very skeptical about multiplayer polluting my single player Mass Effect experience.  Then I tried it, and it became one of my favorite things about the game, and one of my favorite multiplayer experiences in any game!

Will give it a try at some point probably, and if connection quality is similar to what ME3 or DA:I had, I'm going to just ignore it.

(which I suspect would be the case unfortunately)

Of course, although hopefully this time MP won't affect single player in any way. Stupid war asset/galactic readiness bullshit.
