So is the problem that we couldn't mold the ending, or that we could mold it and other players were allowed to mold it in ways you hated?

I'm also not sure why you're worried about Control or Synthesis being made canon. I though Destroy was supposed to be the only decent ending. Wouldn't that be the one to canonize? Or do you secretly fear that Destroy wasn't really all that popular?

Destroy is the only ending where your choices are all basically irrelevant. Control and synthesis tend to show off your decisions and present them as having an impact on the future galaxy.

Where it not for an immortal AI utilising Shepards form and using his memories as a guide to ruling the galaxy and of course glowing green eyes. I think either one would make a much better canon universe than destroy.

As it is though destroy gives people hope that Shepard's still out there somewhere (he's not real.) and because picking destroy minimises your choices the galaxy would basically start over from where you were in ME2 with minor changes and some dead squad mates.

There's a chick in ME1 on Eden Prime who says "Thank the maker you arrived."  Its just how they roll, thinking too hard about these things could be unhealthy. Not that, that's unusual around here.

Not to mention that ME was released two years before DA:O, so it can hardly be a deliberate link. Also, "Thank the Maker" is more likely for it to be an homage to Star Wars (C3PO says it in the first original film) or, as Marik put it, a way to say "thank the generic science fiction god".

Sadly, they have already said no ending is cannon.

Though I would like the refusal ending to be.

Then, when the next MW cycle finally defeats the Reaper's using the info from Liara's beacons, we can return to our home galaxy, instead of being interlopers or invaders in another.

There is no cannon in Mass Effect.

The Easter eggs mean nothing. They are there for fun, not to connect the two universes.

Nothing is true.

Everything is permitted.

You quote from 'Alamut' - I see!

But that's beside the point.

If you really want to find a serious explanation for those Easter Eggs, you have to keep in mind that DA has something ME doesn't: magic.

Thanks to events in Inquisition, we know that at least ancient elves were able to create crossroads in different dimensions. Magic makes that possible. Rather than DA being the far future of the ME setting (which is contradicted by the ogre statue in ME2), it would be easier to imagine a spell gone awry. Maybe a mage tried to fend off an ogre and instead managed to send the ogre to ME and bring a krogan to DA (conservation of mass).

"A wizard did it" may be a too convenient explanation, but in the case of DA it's possible. No Reapers required.

Among all - this explanation seems to be the more contextual and logical (no matter how much wacko it might have sounded). Thanks.

Maker is a pretty common euphemism for God. I don't think it means anything more than that.

But she's a Geth? Geth don't have gods. She was clearly praising her creators.

I don't recall a (female?!) Geth on Eden Prime with any dialogue, much less that line.

She's in the red crate with high decryption skill. You can only open it with a NG+ next to the hidden bomb near the beacon. The one I always nearly miss.

Yeah because coming back to our galaxy after the new races beat the Reapers will go over so well and totally not have the same invaders of the galaxy feeling for them. We would still be alien to them and they would be unlikely to welcome us with open arms with all the crap they been through.

Sad there will not be a canon ending made for ME3 but I understand that they want to keep that can of worms closed and decaying. I believe they should do a voting system for canon ending and its in Andromeda's sequel we find out what actually went down. I want to believe they can side step the endings so easily but I don't quite believe that will be possible until after we played Andromeda lol.

Yeah but what if it's so far into the future, biotics evolved into mages and eezo is really lyrium and the Titans are simply a species that came from an eezo-rich world and incorporated eezo as their blood,

I was going to write that I wouldn't care if they made a canon ending to the Trilogy for Andromeda as the franchise has really lost all it's credibilty at this point.

But then I thought about playing a new ME game where everyone is synthesised or getting rebuilt by the Reapers under the instruction of robo-Shepard and it was just too urgh.

So I guess unless the canon is the one ending I happen to like I would be epicly uncool with it!

It's more likely that Dragon Age takes place on a moon of Horizon, and some Krogan found their way on it, taking memories of the Ogre (and building statues) but losing some men there.

I rather not DA have anything to do with ME especially since I despise that franchise especially after 2 and Inquisition. Assuming the film ever gets made. The canon will more than likely be Male shep, paragon soldier, and destroy ending.

- Given how Shep is portrayed in ME throughout the course of all 3 games

- How Shepaloo is advertised on most of the artwork and boxart (until 3 came along and pandering came full force)

- How the majority of cutscenes play out as if Shepard was a soldier no matter what class picked

I'd say that's the closest thing to canon. Oh yeah and also Kaidan will die because for the sake of the film there must be a love conflict so obviously Ash will live.

Psh, all that time fighting synthetics throughout all 3 games i'll be damned if i'm merging with them. They must be destroyed.
