I just complete my first play through of the trilogy.  I was on story mode so my hat is off to all the hardcore insanity players, but that doesn't matter.  I had fun!!!!.  Now do do another run through (on a higher level?) and then with a different Shepard.  Great game.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who helped me and who put up with my request's for help and advice.  This community is the greatest.

I have started a new ME, but I have also started Dragon Age so the saga continues.

You should definitely try another playthrough on insanity. There is a heavier emphasis of combat, what powers to use, what weapons to buy, how to build your character and which squadmates to take. And since combat is half the fun in this game, it will feel a whole lot different.

If you are worried about a massive spike in difficulty, don't. Yeah, you might get nervous sometimes when you pop out your head and all four enemies start shooting or banshees keep getting behind your cover, and you might scream and throw things because you died of bad decisions, but in the end, when you succeed, it is a really rewarding experience. I don't even play the game on any other difficulty than insanity anymore.

I've definitely found that my combat skills improve drastically in each playthrough.  As I've tried different classes it's given me a greater understanding of it all and I'm now confident enough to consider upping the difficulty.

It's a more obvious improvement in my skills than in any other game I think I've played, dear Lord I must've sucked SO BAD in my first run.

It's good to see that people are still playing this. I have played on and off since it came out and 4 years on it has started feeling awfully lonely on that game.

I'm glad you enjoyed your play through and are going to playthrough again at a higher difficulty.  I'm sure you'll do just fine at it.  I'm old with arthritis in my hands and poor vision; and I never thought I would get through a run on insanity... but I did.  All it really took was a bit of persistence to go back and retry some missions a few times (some several times).  Eventually I learned where to position myself and my squad and how to use my own powers and squad powers more effectively; and my subsequent insanity playthroughs have gone much more smoothly than my first.  I think the first 1/2 of ME2 is probably the toughest part on insanity, so just be prepared to tough it out since it does get easier once you obtain more upgades.

I have to admit that I got a big laugh at soothing a "worn out" Wrex at the Citadel bar.  It seems that female Krogans can be rather taxing.  I now wish I had done the Citidel DLC earlier so I would have had time to space out socialization more.  But the party is properly done after Horizon.  If you don't have this DLC you should.
