the scs spirit trolls are why you bring a 'cloud kill' with you... Wise

it's possible the lich put up 'Protection from Acid' ... one can put this up then stand in your own fog all day, as that blocks the damage part of a 'deathfog' but the summons will still get sent home so you can't protect them.

scs Tor-Gal can be very buggy because of the scripting but traps and other damage over time effects normaly do the trick.

12. The priest spell Shield of the Archons protects the priest until it's been hit by a total number of spell levels equal to half the level of the priest. Is that rounded up or down?

Down. But it doesn't really matter - SCS will never use spells against it, so all that "no. of spells absorbed" is junk. :P

That's a slightly weird choice, I think. A level 14-15 priest would have it torn down by a single level 7+ spell.

We had a long discussion about it some while ago; if you're interested - here. However, this can't work with vanilla game spells. Spell Revisions removed Spell Turning - type spells from the game. In such case, AI can be made to "burn through" your defences with spells, rather than *always* resorting to anti-magic. With Turnings, AI would spam offensive spells at themselves leading to stupid behavior.

Keep in mind, this is strictly a scripting language issue - AI can never tell how many spell levels can be blocked.

But can't it tell if it's up a against a turning type spell or simply a protective one (like SotA)?

It can. But that would make Deflection-type crap - nobody would use them (bar Archons, since priests can't do Sturning), so you'd end up with worse behavior than now.
