Hey, So I just got home from work and decided to fire up some Mass Effect 2 for the first time. It's been sitting on my hard-drive ready to play since yesterday. And to my disapointment I fire it up, import my character, install the DLC... and the opening cutscene I am treated with horrible voice quality.

The voices are very quiet (compared to other sound), have an annoying echo (almost a metallic reverb) and generally suck-tastic. They're so quiet that in the opening few minuets where action starts to pick up, you can not hear the voices over the special effects.

I've heard this may be a problem with realtek audio support, which is what I am using. Can some one please help me out here? What do I do to fix this aduio? Currently the game is very very difficult to play due to this.

(bump)

Any one know what this problem is or how to fix it? It seems like the voice sound is even quieter and worse in quality when using a usb 5.1 gaming head-set that i tend to use while gaming.

Try changing your sound output to Stereo.
