That is what I want. Something like maybe Garrus and Tali were already in a relationship by the end of ME1, and in ME2, you are either playing the third wheel or they remain in a relationship. It's weird how they all attract to the PC and only get with each other after the PC has already been taken.
I kinda hope for some more villain LIs though, even if we have to kill them in the end, tragic romance, maybe sharing one last kiss as they die. It's not like Bioware doesn't make romances that end badly, so maybe they could try to use that bad romance for villains where we know that it may end badly instead on one of the good guys then hit it on your face suddenly when the LIs die or cheat on you.
I don't necessarily mind companions romancing each other, but usually when they do, I tend not to bother trying to romance them at all, since it feels like getting in the middle of a canon pairing... So I prefer when they handle it like Aveline, where she had her own romance subplot, but wasn't an LI, even though you could try and flirt with her, etc.
But I agree about more villian LI options. Making Solas an LI was totally a right move, IMO. Popular antagonists always seem to develop their own fanbase anyway, and it's not a bad way to capitalize on that.
I have a theory why villians always seem to attract so many fangirls...besides the obvious bad boy appeal. In a lot of classic fairy tales and stories, the princess/damsel/female love interest is often being protected or guarded by someone or something. Sometimes an overbearing father (Loghain & Anora), evil step sisters or brothers, or sometimes a monster...like a dragon...or an evil witch/old hag or grandmother (think Flemeth)...which the hero/prince charming (who is often some kind of outsider or underdog) has to overcome, in order to win her over or win the kingdom. So from her perspective, the antagonist coming to upset the status quo and snatch her away is actually often the good guy, coming to rescue her.
