Cass didn't have tears and angst though. She had a pretty romantic and idealized romance, if you ask me.
True.
But there's still the possiblity of having to break up.
There's just something very Disney about Josie's romance, and I love that.

I would love Cass to be bi, but I also love Josie and her romance. And I think being able to have the tropes that Josie's romance has are also highly important for lesbian/bisexual women. Not every romance has to be tears and angst. Sometimes you want Disney and fairytales.
Sera romance was pretty fun though where she pranks everyone, she only gets upset if you are an elf and keep talking about elf this and elf that. Plus, isn't Liara is kinda romantic as well?

Or if you don't agree with her murdering people.
What do you mean by isn't "normal". I would have prefer if they treated it like Steve where him having a husband was just treated as a regular thing, Shepard didn't make a big deal or even act surprised. That's what we call an allegory, it's allure to real life problems that gay people face, not only with the gay conversion but him hiding his sexuality from the public, how he treats sex as a no-string-attached, a problem that is very relevant among gay men. Seeing as how Dorian was written from David Gaider's personal experience, it has to do with his sexuality. Still, I would have prefer for another Steve instead of another Dorian.
If it were normal, people wouldn't feel the need to act differently around the subject. It's becoming less and less of a big deal in our society, but like you said, a man having a husband still isn't treated like an average everyday thing like it was in Mass Effect. People either react typically or go out of their way to act like the news of that is not special to them, or very special and worth honorable mention. Nothing wrong with something not being of the "norm", and of course, what is "normal" to some people's circles isn't exactly normal to others. For instance, I live in South Carolina, that isn't at all normal here. If you came from new york, or california or somewhere more liberal, assuming you come from the United States, that is, then it might be different.
For the record, I too like how Steve was handled, because the fact that he was gay wasn't given all this attention, and went straight to the fact that he was grieving for his lover. That's how this sort of thing is supposed to be done.
True, to each their own.True.

My canon is an elfy elf mage. Not really Sera's type (she ended up romancing Solas...) I have an Adaar for her, though. And a Trevelyan. Liara is very romantic and sweet (she and Josie actually share a writer).
Also, I just don't see why only one of them should be bi. Cass and Josie being bi would be fantastic. And Sera being a lesbian is fantastic. There's a choice, and everyone can find someone that appeals to them.
Or if you don't agree with her murdering people.

Avoiding that is astonishingly easy.
Really! Can't you just drop it for a while.
This is the first time I've talked about that in weeks.
Yeah I know, I still remember the whole "first fully gay character" thing.I was talking about how the media reacts and how Bioware treats Dorian rather than whether it actually is or isn't.
Avoiding that is astonishingly easy.
And can even gain a huge approval boost if you use the right perk.

Because the perception of unfairness, as I said before, there are threads and complains from different forums already talk about how there's only "one" straight option and how 50% of the cast are "gay". It's just the general view and assumption when you start to talk about sexual orientation, people want their "own" slice. It's like why should having a Dorian or a Steve be important and why they can't just all be bisexual.

And? I was talking about things she gets mad at you for. It's astonishingly easy to avoid her getting mad at the elf stuff too.
Honestly, I completely forgot KOTOR was a bioware game.
Still my favorite one too.. Primitive though it is.
Out of all Bioware games, the only female romance interests that have made me want to deviate from my gay protagonists are Liara and Cassandra. Love them both to death.
Well, I romance Tali and Cassandra, but it was because there wasn't an option for me for the first 2 ME and DAI gay options are just so horrible, Cassandra is just miles better. First time, I realize my character is straight.

Truth be told, my opinion is "well, why can't everyone be bisexual?"

She doesn't get mad at you for it unless you deny the murdered person from a few minutes ago any semblance of justice.

Oh, I agree that having actually lesbian and gay characters is important. People like having characters they can call their own.
(I just really wanted to romance Cass.)
Truth be told, my opinion is "well, why can't everyone be bisexual?"
The same reason real people can't?
It just depends if you care to simulate that.
That game will never get old, EVER.Still my favorite one too.. Primitive though it is.

Because bisexuality is a sexual orientation, not a convenience.

According to Allan, something like you can bet that if everyone were bisexual, we would just only have 4 options instead of the amount that we have since it would cost as much to make them bisexual than to make another sexual orientation, although I don't personally agree with it since you don't need to make completely new scenes, new recording, new dialogue and a different character. Most of the bisexual scenes are identical.
If you go by Bioware history, none of the lesbian options was actually a tough or masculine females, they tend to be feminine. Lelianna, Isabela, Merrill, Sera, Josephine, Liara, kelly, Snooki, Samantha. It would be a bit questionable whether ME games made lesbian for straight guys or for lesbians based on comments like Asari is not a lesbian or a race of bisexual blue alien female that breeds exclusively with other race to get pregnant. Not that there's anything wrong with it; it's just that who are their intended target audience? Similar to the gay characters, do they think people would appreciate a world where gay people are being treated as normal people or a world where gay people are once again the outcast and being treated horribly by society?
Darth Malgus only not racist sith. Everyone will be treated equally. And by equally I mean horribly.
I think I'll always be curious how much people define their existence through their sexuality... sex is awesome, but honestly... every animal screws.
I'd rather they expand specializations, classes, ability lists, racial options, skill lists and make them tied deeper into the story.
Jobs define us over a lot longer time than sexuality... and yet there are three jobs, with three variations of each job in Dragon Age.
You know what.. I'd rather they work on having friendships. You're still just in a working relationships with these people.
