As Flemythal she was twice betrayed - by the Evanuris that killed her and by Solas that did... whatever he did at the end of DAI.

As Kreia she was twice betrayed - by the Jedi Council and then her Sith allies.

It would be hilarlol if this was just a running thing with this actress... :)

What?! But she sounds just like her!

You're right though, I just googled it. Damn I've had this wrong for like 10 years...

What started as a joke post has ended in genuine disappointment :(

Heh.. I know what you mean. Kreia was the first thing that came to mind when I first played DAO.

Maybe it was on purpose. Because Shale reminded me of HK and Alistair reminded me of Carth.

Well if they've pushed out Flemeth because the actress it a nightmare to work with (I think I read that somewhere, although clearly my brain facts are unreliable) then at least now there's a perfectly good replacement VA waiting in the wings.

Harsh on Alistair though straykat - he was like my bro in DAO, whereas Carth is one of those characters that makes you understand the term "murder knife the NPCs".

Not sure what you mean. If Flemeth comes back, Mulgrew is coming back. Mulgrew is personally connected with the character. And BioWare wouldn't dare cross her.

As for Janeway being betrayed. I'm sure she was. I know mah'boy Tom Paris blew her out of the water once. I think the Doctor did too. 7 of 9 probably did on various occasions (all of which were forgiven because of reasons, and captain's pet). And by this I mean they disobeyed her orders. As for outright betrayal... yeah, Seska betrayed the whole crew and had another Voyager crew member working for her, and Suitor was just a flat out psycho murderer (who later pulled a Redeemer ending Loghain after being mind melded) and saved the ship.

Your knowledge of Voyager is impressive, most impressive.

Janeway is my favorite captain actually. She's just as ballsy as Kirk, but has some of the scientist and diplomat of Picard.

But I digress. I didn't know she was difficult to work with. I heard she loved it. It doesn't seem like she has many lines anyways.. I don't see where she'd cause problems.

Thanks. I think it was one of the best in the franchise, and it was my favorite. It's too bad so many fans found it unwatchable. But I found Enterprise with Scott Bakula unwatchable. Never liked DS9 either.

I could never stand Janeway. But there's something likeable about that too. I guess I had some small respect for the character. She had her moments. Bakula's captain, I had no respect for.

She was probably difficult to work with in other projects, not necessarily Dragon Age. I haven't heard anything about her being difficult to work with, but if that's true, it was probably all pre-Voyager era stuff. She did an interview with someone about Flemeth in DA:I and she had only good things to say about the character and the process.

Voyager was full of characters taking their own initiative and this would sometimes mean betrayals. That's what comes from being a solo ship out on a journey that no one really knows if they'll even come close to succeeding in getting back from from.

DS9 was dark politics and TNG was relatively idealistic. Much of Voyager was people trying to figure out how they'll get their version of survival, as the ship barely gets through and unifies again to return to their mission to get home.

Flemeth is Janeway?

And Solas is who, Chakotay?

No. Solas is Ianto from Torchwood.

Maybe, but without the tattoo.

Actually, Mythal seems to treat Solas like Janeway treated 7 of 9. Forgiveness for various total screw-ups.

Except 7 of 9 didn't suck the soul out of Janeway.

Now that you mention it, I really want a Kreia figure in DA.

Please... not another plot-essential *companion* I can't stand and can't kick... I've had my fill with Kreia and Solas...

There's always going to be a plot-essential companion that someone cannot stand. I sympathise but as I believe David Gaider once said, if they ever manage to write an universally liked character then someone shall anoint them god although I do not think any god has ever managed that accomplishment.

Oh you're right and I realise now how I could easily be misunderstood. My bad.

I meant to say: I don't want the main/next-gen antagonist to once again masquerade as an unkickable companion. That's what I meant. I completely agree and would, in fact, hate to be lovey-dovey with all of them. No salt in the soup. But the Kreia/Solas shtick has become old by now.

Some people even hate Dog.

That said, it's still no excuse for some of the crap they do :P

Don't worry OP. I could have sworn for the longest time that Dorian was voiced by Cary Elwes. Sounds just like him lol

THIS.

The series even starts with Sisko hating Picard. A battle-scarred survivor who suffered the horrors of a harsh reality showing his contempt for the man that represents the supreme idealism of elevated morals. Reality vs Idealism.

That's what I liked about DS9, its darkness and showing us that the Federation isn't about feeling good and being happy in a utopia that they created.
