Why was the 5th Blight the shortest one?

The 5th blight was the shortest because the writers wanted to do end it in one year  there is no other reason.

 

Heh, I dunno. Seems like the events of the events of the game might also have had something to do with the fact. You're playing it pretty safe with "that's how the writers wanted it".

 

Nah. Just joking around.

 

Don't joke about hailing Loghain, it's the duty of every good Fereldan.

Not neccessarily given that both Amaranthine and Kirkwall are  both coastal cities All Anders would need is ...

I did say it could be fudged. ;)

 

Also note that 100% of the epilogues regarding Anders are completely invalidated by later game information, so fussing over the timeline isn't the biggest problem with Awakening, anyway, as far as lore goes. (I'm way more bothered by Rendon Howe's two fathers than I am by the super tight "how did Anders run away to Kirkwall" thing).
