Heard a rumor that I felt was too spectacular not to uh...explore...here, and I figured the particularly lurid topic title would bring the best out of the lurkers in the dark corners of the forum.

I was playing a game a few nights ago when a player I just met asked me if it's true that "If you pick up the gold from an open chest at its brightest point you get more gold on average...?"

When you pop the chest the pile of gold throbs in kind of a 3 or so second cycle, and supposedly picking it up at the apex of its luminosity will yield greater rewards. Anyone heard anything like this or is this another case of the "Tevinter Vapors" getting to the player base on the fringes?

Either way it's the best DAMP myth I've heard in a bit!

Another "myth" that I have come across is that EVERY SINGLE TIME I have been in a match that has defeated a High Dragon I have always got a Purple Item (or more) in Superb chest as long as I go directly after defeating it. One time I got four. I would say the times I get a Purple from a Superb chest without defeating in dragon is one in ten.  It always works for me so far, so I do think there is something programmed to give better items after you beat a High Dragon.

You actually weren't in the room yet, I was with Poppy and The Sea Boss 420. Poppy had a bunch of myths that seem to be rampant throughout the 360.

It's still the dark ages for them there. Fire is clearly the only solution.

I actually know someone like that who doesn't have the Crescent or a few 27s because they refuse to waste time spending gold and just store it.....

But they have the Hakkon's of course.

They only recently got the PI because of hording gold. Crazy.

I'm sitting on 1.2 million, and I am missing Brand and the Croissant, for the exact same reason.

Think how new and exciting the game will be for me once I get those new items. It will be like I bought a new game, while you suckers keep grinding that old junk. Ha!

Until 20 minutes later, when it's just the same old junk again.
