I've been trying to make changes to the dialog.tlk file using Notepad++, and the game accepts the changes and seems to run fine, except for a strange displacement effect. Replacing even one letter in the dialog can cause almost every line of displayed text in the game to be "off" by a couple of spaces, starting too soon or too late. For example, instead of saying "You cannot initiate dialog. Imoen appears busy." it reads "hank. You cannot initiate dialog. Imoen appears bu" or something like that. Is there some adjustment I can make to Notepad++ to correct this?
editting dialogue?

If you want to edit game dialogue without the dialogue file blowing up you're going to need WeiDU. Personally for all my editing I just use DLTCEP since you can tie WeiDU into it and you don't have to mess with any code. I believe this is the most up to date version. You can find some basic DLTCEP setup advice here. Always remember to backup dialog.tlk!

DLTCEP works fine. Thanks. One question... Do you know where the text for the journal entries is located?
