Hawke is badass, even dealing with the Fade. But I'd think she/he would have an even better chance if you saved Fenyriel. Who better to save their ass this time..

Agreed. I just figured that if I'm going to leave a Warden behind, it might as well be an otherwise useless abomination.

I think it is something who many would have liked to say but they are too polite to even make the attempt..

I can understand that. But i tend to have a tendency to get up and go on, no matter the enemy in question.  :D

What if you met one of them in person and fell hopelessly in love?

I always pick Hawke to stay. When DA2 came out I never felt like it did Origins any "Justice". I also never felt like Hawke was my own character like I did with my Warden, so I really have no problem with letting him become Nightmare food :)

Depends on which Inquisitor I'm roleplaying, who is the Warden and which type of Hawke are in that playthrough.

I'd leave neither behind because in my opinion, the decision made zero sense.

LOL! :D Although... Most of my Hawkes weren't really in DA2... I created them for death....

My warden

I love to sacrifice  my warden he has to be sacrificed even if it was already sacrificed.

I think i have some dementia toward the "In Death and sacrifice" like the moths that threw themselves into the flames for no reason whatsoever other than is cool! How is cool to die with an Old god and a Nightmare Demon rather  than as an old man sick  in his bed.

Hawke gets fed to Nightmare every time, 1 because I never sacrifice a Warden Ever! (especially Alistair). 2 I get to hug Varric.

I love both, but my Warden is the type who would insist on staying behind. After all, she's a Paragon and all-around badass. What better way to go than in an epic battle with a giant demon? She might even win. She killed the Archdemon, multiple High Dragons, a Varterral and the Mother. I can see her coming out of the Fade later, covered in demon spirit goo, being like "time to get a bath and then royally drunk".

Also, Leliana can probably handle losing her. She's hardened and I'm making her Divine.

Anders wouldn't survive losing Hawke and I can't ever make my bird mage suffer.

I would always save Hawke. I never really got attached to any of my wardens at all. It might have been the voiceless protagonist, I'm not really sure why. DA2 was the first Dragon Age game I played, so I think that I will always have more of a soft spot for Hawke as he was my first character in the DA universe as it were. The Stroud choice was easy, as was Loghain, I dithered a bit over Alistair/Hawke.

One playthrough I saved Alistair, then had to go back to an earlier save and save Hawke. I just couldn't bear seeing Varric so sad at losing his friend. Not to mind Fenris losing his lover after all the angst they'd gone through. Sorry Alistair :( I always save Hawke now, no matter who the warden might be.

After playing uncharted 4 my like for set protagonists increased a lot.

but between whatever warden and Hawke i chose to save Hawke.

I save Hawke all the time only once i chose the warden ( i just have no connection what so ever with him Alistair or Stroud ) just to see what would happen but i am not going to do that again.

Because I'm rocking a Warden Allistair in many of my World-States, I choose Hawke to stay in the Fade.  There are a number of reasons for this both in and out of game, but I think Flemeth's words to Hawke in DA2 are my biggest deciding factor.  "We stand upon the precipice of change.  The world fears the inevitable plummet into the Abyss.  Watch for that moment ... and when it comes, do not hesitate to leap.  It is only when you fall that you learn whether you can fly."

... The name of the Quest you make you're choice, "Here lies the Abyss".  ;)

If only Mage Hawkes didn't look soooooo ridiculous trying to bludgeon the Nightmare's mandibles with their stick.

You know... it kinda bothers me that the Warden ally wears medium armor, which usually is rogue exclusive.

Neither.

Between Elizai Surana, lvl 32 spirit healer/shapeshifter mage, Sophie Hawke, s/s beserker/templar Warrior at lvl 20, and Natasha Trevelyan, lvl 14 Rift Mage plus Cassandra, Varric, and Iron Bull at lvl 13 Nightmare wouldn't stand a chance against their combined might.

Nightmare demon is too powerful for mere mortals he grow stronger in millenia from the belief of fears of the entire world,it may be that the demon we saw was not even the true aspect.

That doesn't make sense because the Inquisitor shouldn't care of those pity factors of people that they don't even know.

My Inq  chose always a warden because compared to Hawke their lifespan is reduced and they are vulnerable to Cory which is the only  valid RP reason i found.
