I'm playing kits I never wanted to play. The novaguard spams charge/nova, and I just can't stand the constant screams myself. I can only guess the team would hate it also. So I never play it.

 

Is there any way to mod it off?

Avoid playing vanguards and don't play with vanguards, unless it's volus, krogan or turian with asari voice...

Play it with a biotic team, the constant biotic explosions you detonate SHOULD drown most of it out.

It´s actually quite simple. Charge, die, bleed out, rinse, repeat.

Try Claymoar Vanguard instead. It's classy and tasty.

 

Nova is still useful for its CC power, detonation and invincibility frame. If you just really hate it, spec it out and take shockwave instead.

Umm, I always have a shockwave human vanguard. One Shockwave, one Nova. If you take an acolyte or Phasic ammo, can self detonate. I prefer incendiary ammo though.

Meh. I actually don't mind the game sounds, haven't found any of them annoying really.  I really like the biotic booms, tech bursts and the elephant-in-a-crystal-shop glass shatterings after snapfreeze. Nova groaning is just groaning. Asari moaning is sometimes even slightly erotic.

 

Hmmm what would a Krogan say...? "Stop whining. "

Problem solved, almost. It's the female scream that is so annoying; the male's is lower, quieter and less screechy. So, male is the novaguard w/o shockwave and female is w/o nova and shockwave specced for biotic explosions and charge for weapon synergy.  Seems to work pretty well.

I was kicked once as a novaguard as I was spamming nova cancels inbetween waves, charging every reasonable target in sight, & then novaing. :3
