What do you think will the Andrometa compatible with devices Virtual Reality. So HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR. Do not optimize but it develop for VR.

Driver vorpX has already optimized games ME, ME 2, ME 3, DA:O, DA 2, DAI for Oculus Rift.

No idea.

Mass Effect is a 3rd person behind the back RPG/Shooter but VR is more meant for 1st person (I have not scene any tech demos or gameplay that feature the player character on screen)

VR will be big someday, but right now it's still too new and experimental for AAA games to bet their money on. They will stick to safe formulas.

It will take quite some years before we have RPG's that are really made for VR. That really has VR gameplay and not just free roaming (Elite: Dangerous, Subnautica) but also interactions with NPC's, aiming weapons and interaction with the environment. And when they arrive, I predict that these games will be pretty short (5-10 hours).

I'm skeptical about virtual reality games. I'm sure they're great to some, but I'd much prefer they don't become the norm. I hope they forever remain, at least within my lifetime (I'm 20 right now), for a niche market.

Why only for 1st person? VR is a chance to be closer to the hero and watch him, the more emotionally perceive his adventure, choices, decisions and destiny. As his party members. It is not necessary to become a hero.  But how would his angel  The ability to look into the eyes of the hero, his friends and enemies

I feel like everyone wants stuff to be on VR because it is new. I really do not think that every genre can work well with it tho.

Flight Simulators, sure.

Horror games, of course.

1st person sword fighting games, maybe.

Anything else, really depends on how well they're done.

3rd person cover based action-rpg, meh.

Plus it's really expensive right now, so there is not such great demand as consoles or PC (although I think they do use PC, but it's still extra hardware).

If the demand is there, and people want to see it, maybe Bioware can consider it. But honestly it does not seem worth it.

VR is idiotic, a gimmick targeted at the same kind of morons that believe in aliens, psychiatry and fortune telling

I don't see why VR couldn't enhance or positively alter other genres as well (in fact, Lucky's Tale is a 3rd person platformer and a launch title for the Rift). If anything, it could be sorta neat to immerse the player in the role of the "camera". I wouldn't want developers to go all in on it, but I also don't think that would happen. It would be nice if lots of games offered compatibility with the tech though - modders can get it working only so well (see Skyrim - I hope you don't want to read the menus).

Personally, I'm waiting for later iterations to jump on that bandwagon. Though I think if TES6 were compatible with VR, then I'd just live there.

Aliens, psychiatry and fortune telling, hmmm. One of those is not like the others!

I'm really looking forward to watching this technology develop. I'd like to play a Bioware game designed for VR.

As a person that has suffered from Virtual Reality Sickness I can't see a game like Andromeda working well on Virtual Reality aside from maybe in a virtual desktop setting.  I just don't see current hardware being able to output the graphical fidelity that would be required to prevent people from getting sick without spending a small fortune on a PC that might be able to handle it.  Another hurdle is I think the mechanics in the game itself would have to be designed to work in Virtual Reality for I remember the movies that just had 3D added in post-production and those experiences were always sub-optimal compared to a movie that was designed for 3D at the very beginning.

What I think would be more likely is a companion piece of software that would be something like what Double Fine is planning with Psychonauts: In the Rhombus of Ruin for the Playstation VR which is to accompany Psychonauts 2 release.  BioWare has done similar things in the past for both the Mass Effect franchise and the Dragon Age franchise with the social media games for Dragon Age and the mobile game for Mass Effect.

Why would I want to play a game wwith a VR headset when I could do it on a television or on my laptop screen and adjust the distance I view it at? That's what I want to know. VR is a waste of money. Should have made hovercars instead...

What would we do there? In the Virtual Reality? Would we be able to create our own or something?
