Not really niche builds but not hyper-common either :
-Asari adept with Valiant. Perfect match with the cooldowns and can one-headshot kill all stased infantry units on gold, including Phantoms (with sniper amp 3 and warp rounds 3 at least).
-Turian sentinel with Executionner. This pistol is light enough to let you spam Overload and Warp like a maniac but has enough punch to kill all gold mooks with a single body shot (after an Overload cast for shielded ones).
-QMI with Krysae. Disruptor or incendiary rounds, depending on the faction. Totally wrecks Cerberus.
-Human soldier cryo build, with Acolyte / Hurricane. I prefer the double-shot Claymore build on him but the cryo spec is a nice change sometimes. Quite impressive VS Reapers.

That's why we have two human soldiers. One for double-tap claymore, the other for Cryo/Tech burst. (Technically three, the BF3 soldier could be used - but not so stylish)
I usually switch between Adas and Collector SMG for my Cryo/Tech burst soldier. Never tried with the hurricane, but I can imagine what it could do to a spawn at the right distance.
You're not on PS3 are you? I did run into a very good QFI Lancer player a couple of weeks ago. But, you're right, I believe that is the only one that I've ever seen.
A few weeks ago? Hmm... It could have been me, but I don't think so.
I usually play on PC now, and I'm fairly sure I'd remember turning my PS3 on... Nah, probably wouldn't have been me. I've literally never seen another QFI+Lancer player in my several years of playing ME3MP. Never bumped into one. But ever since I started playing, I've basically used the QFI+Lancer. It's my most used class on PS3 and PC. It just works for me.
If I could choose one class that I'd be made to play forever, I'd pick the Lancer QFI. It's just so damn perfect for the way I play, but I've never seen another one as I said... obviously the world is yet to know her supremacy.
Stunlock and fire explode. Bf3Sol Striker Build. With right timing on AR it is possible to fire 2 magazins with one ramp up phase. However the Striker runs out of ammo very fast.
DM-less Destroyer runs around fast, charges spawns and nukes them with lots of nades. Also a nice build to confuse Pugs. As soon as a Destroyer moves fast and is able to dodge most Pugs don't know anymore what is going one...
I gotta admit that one has me intrigued, though I have to scratch my head at cloakless!
It's absolutely an inferior build compared to cloak. No arguing that from me, TC is OP. I just like it because it drastically switches up her gameplay and it's still extremely potent in Plat.
Full melee Demolisher. She's bae.
So with you on this, I love her heavy melee. Sometimes when I can't sleep at night, I think about it and the very specific sound of her omni blade always does the trick.
QFI+Lancer. Never seen another one, but it's my favourite build in the entire game.
Really ? Sounds to me like a common combination, I hardly play this kit but last time I did it was with an incendiary lancer and some nades, classic.
Edit : My bad, you were talking about the Female, you may be right, I wouldn't be able to tell as I don't see that many QFI
Once, I played with a the Javelin Volus, sure it was just for fun and admittedly it doesn't work great but it really is GLORIOUS.

I have two favourites: the TGI with a Harrier and the AIU with a Reegar. I swear I never see these builds.
Once I played a Krogan Warlord with an Incisor on Silver. (I call this build a Wincisor.) They didn't kick me, but I'm sure the experience still haunts them.

Hmm, I like this idea. Mostly because I love her heavy melee. I've never actually tried it though. How do you spec her? Skip homing grenades in favor of fitness?
Anyway, I think my favorite weird build that I've tried is a Revenant Shadow. It's by no means a good idea, but it was fun, and at least good enough for me to clutch a few gold waves when I tried it. It's fortunate that most targets that you don't always want to shadow strike (Or can't - I'm looking at you, Atlas...) are big enough that the Revenant can actually hit them!
I have loads of fun with the Spitfire GI,and I can't say I've ever seen any in game either.Believe it or not, this guy can be a real tank. http://kalence.drupa...24251364!05FA55

It's been so long since I spec'd any character, I barely remember what I did. I *think* I spec'd out of homing nades entirely and ran full melee. She's really squishy in Gold/Plat but that's what arc grenades are for. And bullet sponges. I mean, team mates. ![]()
Destroyer Executioner.
(I know, it is not hipster enough... But I tried).
Do you know or enjoy any weird specialized builds that almost nobody uses?
For me it would be FQI with sabotage/heavy melee build (can one hit phantoms). It's insane fun. But you really need those Str Amp 3s, and I'm always running low on those.
Or do you maybe have a build that makes weapons like Striker or Raider useful? Maybe a full melee Drell? Tried it a few times, can be quite good against Cerb, light melee Phantom stunlock is one of the most risky, ridiculous and fun things to do. But my vote would go to FQI melee, honestly I would never have come up with that combo if I wouldn't have read it here.
So, got any other hidden favorites?
This, full melee Drell Assfiltrator, full melee Quarksman, professional H8 Surfer Bat Sent, Vorcha Engineer melee, Humanfiltrator melee, and H4x Shield Juggernaut. Oh, and Talon Concussive Arrow build. Greatest fun vs Cerberus ever.
venom carpet bombing human soldier build
I love this build because phantoms become completely irrelevant and stunning brutes and blowing them up is so fun.
Phaeston Destroyer.............. use your normal destroyer / typhoon build..... just sub in the phaeston... It actually makes this gun..fun.
i once came across a Black Widow Fury , i wouldn't recommend it.
as for me, nothing very unusual, i enjoy an executioner Justicar .
and i've been thinking of a batarian gauntlet human engineer.
Not sure any TGI build can be called non-meta, but I have settled on the Valkyrie AR with thermal scope for headshotting/wallhacking on him, and it's good fun. I enjoy a Spitfire/Raider flamerless GT, a strong build that can carry gold. The Viper GI (a build I first saw mentioned by FluffyCannibal) is insane fun, and can dish out a lot of damage on gold (some good equipment is recommended though): highly recommended! Tempest TSol is also a favourite of mine: the smallest minigun
Honorable mention to a barrage gear/stabilization module Incisor QFI: an interesting combination I like to run on occasions.
(Technically three, the BF3 soldier could be used - but not so stylish)
I second the cryo soldier, but what is more stylish than BOOM - (AR) BOOM - (Carnage) TechBurst - (Frags) FireExplosion BF3 Soldier
A more ranged substitute for Claymoar is the M-98 Widow or for fresh manifests the Mantis.

I can believe that, my non-flamer GT occasionally rolls with the Spitfire.
Speaking of which, Destroyer Spitfire. Yes, with Devastator Mode.
Also Scorpion TSol. Because sometimes, seriously, f**k aiming.

On a more serious note, there are some really fun builds posted here and they're giving me a reason to fire up the game again and try them out. Probably skipping the sniper Krogan, tough.
Can't wait to try out the destroyerless Destroyer, KroGatling, GI Raider, and wtf cloackless Asari with Arc, why?
Claymore volus, lol.
Why would QFI+Lancer be good?
Ok, Juggernaut falcon punch, that is... so very wrong I have to try.
Javelin Fury made me brainfart. Why would someone do this?
Human soldier cryo and striker build.. There are actually many interesting playstiles you can create with the adrenaline reload mechanic. I really like this class for my modded platinum-diamond games, but I ussualy use classic weapons like Typhon, didn't think about many others that could also be fun. I think I used PPR on him at some point. In some ways, it's almost better than destroyer since you keep the agility but still have the adrenaline rush, I just miss the multifrag grenades.
Oh, I just remembered. Anyone using Barrier offensively on Krogan Shaman? It's actually lots of fun!

That's how I play the BF3 too. Super squishy but can deal an insane amount of damage in only a few seconds.

Tried it once, had little success. Must be fun on glacier on a silver match though
