After rewatching the trailer I noticed a giant flying creature in the background at around 30 seconds in the Johnny Cash trailer.

If anything in the trailer was exciting, it was that. Truly exotic, alien life form is something Mass Effect has lacked with all their humanoid models. I hope there's more like it in the game. Maybe we can have a boss battle with it like in Metroid Prime 3!

I agree. I want to see more alien lifeforms on planets. Aliens that aren't humanoids. Aliens that can't talk, or use tools, or understand technology.

What? Flying Space Dragons in ME:A.... Kay. Not as weird as KOTOR'S one dragon that kills you in one shot if you unwisely decide to enter the cave when it's still in there...

Which trailer? The ghost riders in the sky trailer, or the N7 day trailer? You don't' specify.

Also the huge beetles on the swamp like planet i've noticed. It seems they are really putting an emphasis on exploration but how long until we end up at planets like those in Mass Effect 1? Lifeless. It would be if every planet was really unique but i'm sure that there would be a couple planets with just grass and hills.

I had to look it up to see what he was talking about and watch, so this is the trailer,

I am all for more alien-animal like forms in MEA. I enjoyed running across them in previous ME games, like those pod crabs on Virmire. It would help make Andromeda feel more alien and give each planet more of a unique feel. Whether these are creatures you fight, passive ones or just for the background.

Your comment brought back some memories. Man, KOTOR is a great game.

This whole quest taught an important lesson about cheesing tougher enemies with mine spam.

My first time through KotOR II, that's how I ended up beating the Eclipse sisters with a woefully underequipped and poorly-levelled Atton. Just reverted to a pre-fight save, filled the bar with mines, and then ran in circles as they suffered death by multiple explosion behind me.

The one in KotOR wasn't weird, it was to be expected. It was a krayt dragon, after all. Man, how I miss that game.

@Tallrickruush - Agreed, it was more like "AHHHHHH! I'M BEING KILLED BY A DRAGON!" more than weird. And KOTOR is a wonderful game - despite me never beating it because my Revan was too weak to kill those two beasts in the Sith Academy....

Seeing that dragon or whatever flying creature it is does get me excited to see all of the wildlife we'll find on the planets, that and those little bug things in the other scene of the E3 trailer.

Did you read the words "representative of game experience" at the end of the trailer (bottom right)?

That clearly implies what you see is not necessarily what you get and it's EA's Get Out of Jail Free Card.  Trailer cinematics are different from game play video captures. Trailer cinematics can be made in much higher resolution and colour fidelity that what you can experience in actual game play. It's like that super fresh green lettuce you see on TV ads that somehow one can never find at a grocery store.

Just sayin'

Its not a space dragon if its bound to an in atmosphere environment.

Its just a regular alien. Or in this case a dragon.

On a more serious note, it would be rather interesting/cool to have certain planets or even a singular planet to have Dragon like alien lifeforms with the visual appearances of celestial or oriental dragons. Throw in a few alien tribes who worship them as God's and we have ourselves a side quest or a main story quest(but only if we get to ride one into battle at the end of the game).

They could be a cosmic migrating species, every 100 or 1000 years they come to a specific planet from all over andromeda. A nest persay that due to unknown planetary reasons only becomes viable once every 100/1000 years. By traversing the cosmos like a quarian does during their pilgrimage they acquire knowledge, wisdom, experience, adventures all in all only to return to the very place they were born. Where upon returning they mate, rest, then perish by becoming one with the nest making it larger and larger each time.

They could hold a role specific to andromeda, their existence could be like a galactus of sorts where by breeding & dying continuously for hundreds and thousands of years on a single planet their nest eventually becomes THE planet where then only one "dragon" is born. A special one. Named Atreyu, a single male with the collective knowledge of his species and the planet's(including all life on now dead planet). This special dragon would be unto andromeda what the reapers were to the milky way.

It'd be a never-ending story.

So you want more fantasy in a futuristic action-based franchise? Well, there are giant flying dragons in Dragon Age. The Archdemons, you know. But I get it. You want more space magic and epic action.

Well, I want more scifi. It seems the one crucial ingredient to be lacking in ME. A futuristic franchise. Supposed to have a certain scientific vibe to it. Even if it's fake science.
