I wouldn't call assaulting pirate bases in ME1 on foot terribly hard, even on insanity. The Mako just make things go faster because you didn't need to be at all careful.

Although maybe with them going more open worldish we'll get some actual long range sniping going on.

Yeah It's about time BioWare added a zoom feature for the scopes.

EDIT: Didn't ME1 have zoom? It's been a while.

I think everyone is desperate for news on MEA, that's what's wrong lol. But the game won't be out until next year, so I doubt we'll get anything anytime soon.

Indeed we'll almost certainly get something during the summer during the various game shows like E3 and all that. I wouldn't expect anything before then however. Especially as it's looking like a Jan-March type release now. Only time will tell  though.

It does for the Mako not suer about the snipers though beyond the standard looking through the scope. Tbh though that's usually enough zoom for me anyway on a sniper rifle to get my target.

What I was saying is that with the large open worlds we'll be roaming, the whack-a-mole gameplay style of ME1-3 will make gameplay virtually impossible, just look at Mass Effect 1... You couldn't attack a pirate base without the supporting fire of your Mako. We need faster paced gameplay and to be able to call in 'Mac Strikes' (Halo Wars) For support when on large open alien worlds so we can at least have a chance on foot.

Why would an open world vehicle section  be designed around whack-a-mole dismounted combat? That'd be like Halo making it's vehicle sections balanced to dismounts: sure, you could try, but why bother?

If you don't have the cover to do cover-based shooting, that'd save both design time and encourage the use of the mako as intended. Win-win.

This.

Soft cover, right hand advantage, and speed.

I'd also like to see the option to play left-handed, just to add variety.

I'm also a heavy user of ME's pause-to-aim mechanic, so I derive no benefit from speed.

ME1 did have a zoom.

I dismounted for ME1 combat all the time, mostly because of the 75% XP penalty you got for using the Mako.

As am (I but I use those a lot on both ME and DA.

I like cover based mechanic. But an option to select between cover based or not are a great idea.

We already have that option. Just don't get in cover. ME2 was the only game in the series that was real stringent on cover use, and even that could be avoided with enough skill.

Yeah tbh I think the only mechanics I'd like to see changed are related to the Mako not with cover. Just been fighting the Mako to get it  to go where I want it to go on Nodacrux on ME1 so as long as MEA improves that hopefully things will start looking and playing good.

Honestly, if I had my way, I'd play as, more or less, a Vanguard with a sword, biotic charging/telespamming everywhere (Think Ciri in TW3)... But, well, that wouldn't be very Mass Effect, and I get why people who've enjoyed the way the rest of franchise has played wouldn't be into it.

You can play that already, in me3mp

... I like the cover mechanic. Also like it in ME1. But ME should never ever ever learn anything from Call of Duty... ever. ME3MP is my favourite multiplayer from any game I've played. Improve on it? Sure. But look at Call of Duty for a "better" multiplayer experience? Hell no. They should do exactly the opposite. They need things to repel the waves of twelve year olds like...machine guns a good quality multiplayer mode. :o Less kids, more Quarians.

Saying that ME:A could be a better multiplayer experience if they looked at Call of Duty would be like telling a Panther it could be more effective at killing things if it was more like a house cat. It's just... no.

Really? Never played MP--the people I play coop with have Xboxes, and I play ME on PC. Well, here's hoping they have it for Andromeda SP, anyway.

I'm talking about the gameplay not the community. The third person gameplay of Modern warfare 2 was fluid, more so than Saints Row 3. I just used it an example.

And about the multiplayer... Mass Effect needs more RPG style unlocks like call of duty because...well... It's an RPG! Like more gun/armor customization. And a better Credits system.

The gameplay attracts the community. What, did you think they played the game for it's rich lore? :P

Last time I checked, you couldn't customise **** on Call of Duty. You could stick a few attachments on weapons, which you can already do in ME3MP, and that was it. Might have changed in the many years I've not been playing them for, but I did play MW2 way back when. ME3 has far better customisation.

Let's see.. Facial tattoos, custom paint your weapons (like making your gun look N7), ranking system is a lot more fun, jetpacks, climbing buildings, ect... And Mass Effect needs more game types than just hoard mode.

You can change your entire face colour in ME3, not just part of it. :P

There are guns in ME3MP that already say N7 on... so no effort needed to make them look N7-y.

Jetpacks? TGI, Havoc. No biggie. (LOL at COD for jetpacks though. Think that's hilarious).

Hoard mode is fine by me. As long as it isn't PvP, I don't especially care. But PvP game modes would a) attract twelve year olds screaming down their mic, and B) ruin the Mass Effect experience.

You have me on climbing buildings, but you could always take the stairs. Y'know, and make it easier. Maybe take an elevator up a few floors. Mass Effect 1 had great elevators. :)

Funniest thing I've heard all year... Someone actually liked the elevators???

This, also.

Give us some lefthandedness.

Love the pta, also the charging type weapons for fast types.

Hopefully we get them all, in at least as good a version, if not better, with the new engine.

Ah, cool! That's not exactly the sort of thing I had in mind, though. It's less about stealthy silent teleport stabbiness than it is super-agile telespam slashing. This sort of thing:

Obviously, I wouldn't want to be nearly so OP, at least in the early game, but you get the idea. I'm not saying BioWare should actually do it, mind: as much fun as I'd have, it just isn't how Mass Effect is supposed to play.

I loved the elevators. They created a sense of coherence to the Citadel, as each piece was connected and existed in a specific physical location relative to the others.

And they replaced what would otherwise just be loading screens. I much prefer to cover the distance rather than just be transported somewhere. That's why I don't use fast traveling in Skyrim, and that's why I like the elevators.

Even the Mako made distance pass too swiftly. That's partly why I did the Ilos trench run on foot.
