So I was checking out the new Keep features and I noticed something on the map that I never noticed before.  If it was on previous maps I never saw it.

I have new respect for Tevinter building projects.

Then the Orlesian Lords could go through that bridge to Halamshiral.

I believe that is also in the World of Thedas map. Presumably it was built with blood magic.

Cool! Now I want to see it. And try to cross it. It must have been huge! If the supports went all the way to the bottom, magic was surely involved.

They HAD a bridge.

Until them negative waves brought it down.

Yes, that's always been there, but we rarely see the map so large as to see such small details. That very large map has been available on the DAwiki for a long time and was originally part of a GameInformer piece.

Quick! Someone use math to calculate the distance!

No wonder why the Qunari have the best fleets. The foundations of human society lies in Tevinter... who used freaking magic just to cross a sea. That makes people lazy and un-inventive.

I wonder how the bridge got destroyed?

Maybe it degraded from neglect or was also destroyed by some magic, or the more likely option is Dreadnoughts

We can just use the war table and some power points to restore it! After all, we were able to restore Judicael's Crossing in EdL without any major problems...

Fereldan drug dealers used it to cross the border. So Archon Trump had it destroyed in order to stop that invasion!

Could explain how the elves from the Dales invaded Val Royeaux so quickly and easily , or it might have been broken before ...guess we'll never know.

Not sure why we never learn about this , you'd think a number of people would want it repaired , like the dwarves in Orzammar.Or nobles from the orlesians capital who had their holiday mansion in the Dales.

Maybe it was destroyed during one of the Blights.

Either by the Archedemon spitting his magic fire on it, or the people itself, trying to cut off a way for the Darkspawn to cross the Waking Sea.

Maybe repairing it would require magic, which they are loathe to trust.

It might have been destroyed back when Tevivinter first withdrew from the region.

I think the bridge was always in the maps of Thedas

Tevinter highways are in disrepair due to age and neglect throughout Thedas. You can see broken parts of the Highway in Lothering in DA:O and in Emprise du Leon in DA:I

I wonder if they are better cared of in Tevinter. We know from Erimond's codex entry that there are at least some magisters in the Imperium who are busy with road repair.

That assumes that invention stops counting if what you are inventing uses or is magic.

Shouldn't the Orlesians rebuild such a strategic location?

The Orlesians probably can't without better mages/using mages.

It probably also involved a massive amount of blood sacrifices. I doubt even the modern Imperium could rebuild it without resorting to pre-Andraste levels of blood magic.
