How likely is it that we'll get another Grey Warden protagonist?

It is all speculation at this point, but I can only imagine we'll be playing a Grey Warden once more in the last Dragon Age game.

What if we had a single Act about the 6th Blight, instead of the whole game? Maybe we'll get a (real) Grey Warden companion and depending on our choices he can die killing the Archdemon or survive.I don't believe the franchise will end before the matter of the Blights is fully resolved and there still are two archdemons to go.

Please no. I can't think of anything that could make me less excited for a game than more Grey Wardens.

God, no. The fanboyism is already too strong with one Warden. The Blights and Darkspawn in general will probably be eradicated by a magical MacGuffin completely unrelated to the Wardens by the end of the series. Something ancient elfy, dragons, both, or whatever.
inb4 BW sends the Maker to do it

I really hope we'll get another Warden(or maybe even the old one in a DLC), if nothing else because then i'll feel like my character can wear their awesome armors without appearing like a wannabe ![]()

I doubt we'll play as one again, but if we do, I'd rather just play The Warden for another game, not some new character who will just feel like a replacement. I don't want to play as Not!HeroOfFereldan.

By the time the final game comes, the HoF will be either dying in the Deep Roads or retired after getting cured from the Taint.
Also, it's Ferelden.

May not play as a Warden again, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a Grey Warden for a companion.

And a LI of course. Bioware and its tragic romances...

Doubtful. Too many are attached to their HOF who is also a Warden. With that in mind, the events of The Last Flight was not really touched on in DAI, and with the possible civil war among them, there is very little doubt the Wardens will play a pivotal role in the future. I just can't image the protagonist being a Warden. Although, The Warden title is the HOF- the two work almost interchangeable with us fans. It would be like playing The Champion of Antiva City or The Inquisitor of the sub-Inquisition (or whatever would be good example there) Just doesn't work.

maybe as a companion, but I doubt as the main protagonist.
At most, if they really want to, they could make a grey warden specialization where they used the Taint to fuel whatever. Though I don;t think that'll happen

Not very likely. I'm actually pretty fine with dat - I'm sure Bioware can think of another progie that has a shortened lifespan like both the Quiz and the Warden has...

tbh while it is possible I doubt it will happen with DAO it works well as it teaches the lore and world of Thedas for the most pat and how it all works. Having you play a GW in the middle of a Blight I think was a very clever and ingenious way I think of achieving that. But I don't see them doing it a second time

No age has seen more then one blight. I dont think they need to resolve every single thing in there lore. Lets leave somethings out there. And if we do find out the source of the blight I doubt Archdemons will be involved again

Also, Sten saying the Old Gods could've been Kings for Dragons, Yavana addressing her Great Dragon as the Queen and finding out that Razikale is a female seems more than a coincidence for me.

Other than Corybits the Grey Spawn were the worst tools in Thedas in DAI. They need something to not be hated so maybe they will have a chance at redemption in a future game or just become worse which is the DA way.
Murderers of the Divine for a Second Sin darkspawn master they were hiding is a pretty big mark on their record and makes for potential interesting story telling possibilities.
Solas doesn't like them so maybe they can be useful or maybe they will continue in stupidity like in DAI.
If they are Orlesion Warden stupid I hope we never see them again but if they have a future story arc that allows them to redeem themselves then game on.

Doubtful. The trend is to move away from DAO and the DS. Blights happen hundreds of years apart, so they can tell any number of stories in between blights. Though the idea of a double blight does interest me (I think there are 2 AD left). They could end the DS threat with one game, though probably won't happen.

Given how the last two installments have taken us away from the Darkspawn issue while presenting the Wardens in increasingly unfavorable terms, it seems unlikely that we'll have another Warden protagonist.
At best, we'll get another true warden as a companion, at worst the writers will run out of ideas and just make them straight up villains.

I'd say that the last two games (at least with Legacy in DA2) brought us a bit closer to the heart of the darkspawn issue. Fighting the horde is pretty meaningless in and of itself since they're endless, but finding the source of the Blight could be something.
As for the Wardens, I get the feeling that they're going to be considered the stopgap solution that curbs the horde's ability to become a unified force, but has no real way of combating the darkspawn threat to its core. That would make sense, since the only thing they're really specialized in is successfully killing an archdemon. I rather enjoy that the very thing they use as a weapon against the Blight turned out to be a huge liability.

Black City I reckon is Arlathan. Blight was brought to the world from there by the magisters. I figure the evanuris did something nuts that created/unleashed the blight and part of the motivation for creating the veil was to lock it away.
Given Solas' reaction to the Wardens he clearly knows a lot more about the blight than he's letting on

Seems like it being Arlathan is too obvious.
But maybe so.
I just figured this all had more to do with dwarves. Or at least, they must factor in somehow. Maybe even tied to those thaigs Hawke ventured in.
Also, I'd prefer a game where a group literally tracked down an old god. Not merely a blight. One huge suicidal dungeon crawl into the deep. Maybe for one of the last games.

I think that an Old God will be needed to fight Solas and, possibly, the other elven "gods". Maybe just the power of an Old God, maybe the Old God itself
Plus, IMHO, i kinda believe that the DR was made at least once before the events of Origins, with Dumat. The Dread Wolf vs The Dragon would be quite awesome ![]()
