Jeez, when people don't complain that elves look too much like "humans with pointed ears," they complain that they're too skinny.

They actually are in DAI; my Male Lavellan looked like he needed to eat some hardcore meat... And what would you suppose they do? Let them continue looking like wimpy little elves that get broken easily or something? At least Sera looked somewhat reasonably sized in my viewpoint...

Probably different people each time. There are many issues where pleasing one sub-set of the fandom upsets another.

I certainly felt that the elves in Origins didn't look distinctive enough, although it didn't annoy me enough to complain here. I don't mind at all that they are "skinny" now. I prefer each species to look unique, and I don't feel the need to impose human rules of physiology on a fantasy race. I do recognise the issue with male elves' shoulders and upper arms, though. They seem a little weird...

I actually enjoyed the look of the elves in DA2, they were skinny sure but they looked right when it came to movement. Merrill looked great to me. The problem with the elves now is that they just look broken somehow. Their body parts don't move right depending on the armor, sometimes their shoulders look locked into place or disjointed. I don't mind how skinny they are and i do prefer it, but there's just something "off" about them.
