You guys need to expand your horizons. Bitters like double IPAs etc, not my thing. I dunno where I stand on the IBU chart but 80 is a "no thanks". There are some damn fine stouts out there though.
Currently sours, saisons, witbeirs, and hefeweizens are my favourites. Especially sours done well and aged a bit, although the quicker lactobacillus sours are still pretty good. (And cheaper cause they don't need aging.) There was a sour flanders red done by my favourite brewery, Driftwood, called "Bird of Prey" about two years ago. $14CAN for a bomber (usually 6.99 for most bombers so over double the usual.) Never had anything like it before and probably never will again. *More later
Witbeirs/hefe's, sooo yummy if you can get those really thick white or yeasty ones. I get the feeling they aren't as prolific here as they are in Europe so I kinda feel a bit envious you euros on the forum.
For Fruit flavoured beers, god so many. Lindeman's Pomme Lambic, probably the best fruit beer I have ever had. Right now I'm having Tropical Vice by Deadfrog. Also great.
Not a fruit beer but a milder tawny amber that's bloody amazing called Innis and Gunn. They have a variety of options but their original is still great.
*As promised more. Driftwood Breweries has the hands down most beautiful bottle jackets ever. Take a look. (Yes I have had all of these.)
