I think I'll wait to make a decision until I know there's going to be one, and a basic idea of what it's going to be. In the meantime, it's like asking me if I want a seat on the first spaceshuttle to Mars in 2025: Sure, I'd like one, but I'd sure like to know if I'm still going to be alive or not before I buy a ticket...

Most likely I will, but ways to guarantee I buy it is if I get to play as Hawke or the Inquisitor again. Or even a taint-cured Hero of Ferelden.
We'll see how it goes, I don't mind having yet another new player character but I'd rather have my Inquisitor or Hawke back.

Yes, I'll buy the next DAI game.

Yes, then. I'll get the next DA game, and likely any single-player game that BioWare choose to release.

Due to not liking DAI I will not get the deluxe edition but will get the regular edition unless it includes a companion or dog or something. I'm sucker for new game hype so will get it pre-ordered. I don't expect the combat to be any good but will like to see the story. I hope I get surprised but I doubt it. I'll probably get a digital this time from origin.

Preordering really only benefits the studio and reduces the agency of the players. If Bioware knows that they can get a certain number of preorder purchases without waiting for reviews (player reviews, not media reviews which are almost always completely positive) then they can release a game with bugs, suboptimal controls, they don't need to live up to their marketing hype and they will still get the sales. And they will use preorder numbers to "prove" how popular the game is, which doesn't account for people who buy the game and sell it back quickly, or those who preorder and then wait a few weeks/months for patches to come out before they actually play the game.
I am not preordering games anymore, Bioware or otherwise. I did for DA2, ME3 and DAI and will not do so again. I might wait to buy used copies of all games. I will inevitably play all games Bioware puts out, but I no longer have the need to play them as soon as they're available.
I wish companies weren't allowed to offer pre-order incentives to be honest, especially exclusives. As a completionist, I hate not being able to unlock everything, so I'll be more likely to pre-order something that has exclusives. And I don't like it. I'm being used ![]()
If there were no pre-order incentives, but still pre-orders, that would be fine. Can't stop people form reserving copies.

You all would probably first find out what the next Dragon Age game would be like like reading the previews and maybe the reviews first before you would buy it so my question is.
No... I'll probably pre-order. I never read reviews. I really don't give a damn what some other person thinks of a game. Most of the time, when I've read reviews after the fact, I find they don't correspond at all to how I felt about it. If I went by those reviews, I would have denied myself a wonderful experience.
This applies to movies/tv as well. The only thing that has any sort of influence on me are the types that say, "If you liked such-and-such, you'll love This New Thing."

I don't mind incentives like one-off items if they are limited to the portal of preorder, like amulet of suckerdom via Gamestop USA and ring of still a sucker via Gamestop New Zealand. But it is irksome when it's the collector's edition of ME3 with Javik.
But I think Bioware has learned from Day One DLC so that won't happen again.

^ Wait, wait... you had to buy the Collector's Edition of ME3 for Javik?? Uh... wow, is all I can say. Was he at least available as a separate purchase later on, or something, like Shale and Sebastian were?

I'm only speaking from personal experience so I don't know what the details are, but I bought the CE of ME3 which included From Ashes which is the Javik portion of the game. So I'm not sure whether he was available in other formats as well but I thought that he was only in certain versions of the game.

I know it's weird but I like reading all about books, movies, and games before I read, see, or play them. I don't let other people's opinions decide what I actually think of those things once I've read, seen, or played them but I do like to know how to avoid killing my favorite characters in games.

What I won't do is preorder or buy on day 1 or even on day 7 or 30 (and even less pay for the junk in those super duper special editions). I always wait for games and disagree with the common argument "if you don't buy at full price developers will starve".

Yes I do plan on getting the next one. Really enjoyed DAI (just started a new character in it the other day) and Trespasser got me hyped for what will happen next. DAI isn't perfect but it is a nice meaty game that definitely delivered the bang for my bucks.

Yes, I will purchase Dragon Age 4. I will very likely pre order it as well. I have enjoyed all of them. It will be worth it to see where the story goes.

Those are actually my least favourite
Because I can only pre-order from one location, so I'll miss out on some things, which I hate
I don't really mind day-one access to things either, as long as I can unlock it myself given time. I just want to have everything!

Yeah, basically. It comes with the CE, but you can buy it otherwise.

I've loved every Dragon Age game thus far and have no reason to think I won't love the next one. They have, for me, the perfect balance between a set PC and a completely customizable PC, set enough to feel involved in the story and setting but customizable enough to make them truly mine and to offer huge replayability.
So unless DA4's announcement includes a fundamental change in gameplay (ex. you have to play a completely set male PC ala Geralt, there are no companions, you and your entire party are Ghasts, etc.) I will be buying. If it does have some fundamental change like that then I'll wait and see how its received.

I take that ticket and on my way to Mars i can play Dragon Age 4 i only hope the new Dragon Age game will be earlier then 2025

Because I'm admittedly a fanboy, the moment the game becomes available for pre-order I'll be purchasing. I've invested an incredible amount of time into the series and I'm in love with the storytelling, the fact that my decisions will span over at least 4 games is incredible. The only thing that would remove me from the series is if they came up with a justification to lock the next protagonist down to a certain class/race, that'd take me so far away from the series. I know the next game will be heavily Tevinter-centric but imagine being forced to play as a generic human mage without any other option, no thanks.
