Personally I like the camera a bit further back, much like Gears of War. Gives a bit more situational awareness, and zooming out to show the players feet when using the jetpack is a good idea. Aiming should bring the camera in close (or use the weapon's scope if one's attached).

A free roaming camera... detachable from the player is better or a wider range of x-y-z movement + zoom in/out is OK too. I'm unsure why the devs freeze the camera position.

Personally I prefer to have the camera hang back a little bit so that I have increased visibility.
Having half my screen be my character's back seems kind of pointless.

Not very close, not very far. Looks on point.

I don't like the zooming restriction in DAI.

That being said gears had 4 man teams and wide open combat zones last time I played. Given the closed quarters corridor style ME has traditionally had I'm still on the fence.

I don't remember the combat zones being that big in Gears. The average size is probably a bit larger, but Gears definitely relied on corridors as well. Besides, Mass Effect seems to be losing the corridors this time around, and I don't think I'd like to explore beautiful open vistas with my own back obscuring 50% of the screen. No one's lats are that impressive.

Each player should get to control exactly where the camera is. That gives us each the experience we want.
I prefer having the camera farther back.
I also want the camera position or direction to have no effect on the game's controls. I hated in ME3 where what I could do was limited by what direction I had the camera facing.

I've read all comments. Some of you guys want camera a bit far as in the leaked video and some want options to adjust.
The reason is when playing the game for so long, all I focus on is my character, enemies and the scope in between.
Sure you guys might want to see the surroundings in the beginning or while playing from time to time. However, environment won't be a big deal after a hundred hours or so. Plus, ME3 viewport is outstanding because not only it does make the game character closer but also gives enough information for the combat. I can hear enemies around me and I know where they are. I would like BioWare to keep Andromeda's campaign view same as ME3's campaign and to keep its multiplayer viewport close to ME3's multiplayer.

The camera distance in ME2 was ok, in ME3 it was too close

They should just have it close during combat. While sprinting, it should be further back, as well as when you holster your weapon and use the jetpack. Also when you are in a non-combat zone, it should probably be even further than that.
