Spoiler

There should be cloaks in Mass Effect.  Like those characters in Destiny.  You know, except sans the suckage that comes with that experience.

If you're a roguish type space voyager you should definitely be able to wear cloaks.  If you're a soldier you should be able to wear nothing but massive Big McLargeHuge armor.  And with magic users?  Latex.  Skin tight clothing EVERYWHERE.

...If there is one thing Destiny got right its the aesthetics and outfit design.

As I remember Destiny had a very medieval feeling to its design, so cloaks made sense. There has little to none of that in Mass Effect.

However, Andromeda is a new galaxy, with races that will most likely look very different from the species from the Milk Way, so why not cloaks? On a side note, if I could, I'd give cloaks to the turians in the trilogy, I think it would fit and make them stand out more.

Also, cloaks would make a Revan costume be one step closer, so of course I say Andromeda should have them!

Tactical cloaks? Absolutely. Wearable cloaks? No thanks.

Cloaks are for over the top villains.

No, what I want are backpacks not cloaks. Backpacks inspired in the ones astronauts wear for the life systems and whatnot. Make it look kewl and rad as you do but with that science/engineering nerd inspiration.

On one level, it wouldn't really fit the Mass Effect aesthetic, and cloaks are of debatable usefulness to someone wearing an environment suit.

On another level, cloaks are ****** awesome.

So put me down as a 'maybe', I guess.

I wouldn't mind there being an option for them. Bioware has been expressing how customizable the armor will be, and the character shown has part of his suit done so it looks like a bandanna so it could be a possibility.

As long as they are removable. Prefer to fight topless, showing abs and torso muscles.

That's something I hope they avoid like the plague. This time I hope all the character's outfits make logical sense for space exploration.

^ Only in breathable worlds should we battle the hostile creatures half-naked. Ho! ho!

If we can get a skin tight Miranda type costume and cloaks, I am making a biotic character and using Halle Berry as the character rep.

No way. It doesn't at all fit the feel of the setting, in my opinion.

Sure why not if it's done right. Actually from what I've heard, Saren's initial design had him wearing a robe like outfit along with cloaks, which actually looks pretty suave.

I actually prefer this to the original final design so I'm all up for it personally. It just depends on whether the developers can pull it off with style.

Yay, I wanna feel like a Jedi Knight as a cloaked (and maybe even hooded) biotic warrior.

One of Saren's initial designs also had what looked like a Mage's staff, thankfully they (probably) decided that this theme was better left for DA...

That design would have been great for his original appearance, but I do think his final design should be what it is for the final confrontation, since it makes him look a lot more of a merge between organic and machine.

He was originally just going to have the cybernetic eyes and then get all cyborg-y after Virmire.

Yeah I know but it could've been like an accessory like a cane or a control rod or something like that. Totally doable with some good writing Imo.

True the reaper augmentations are more better visible in the final version but this robed version also has visible effects of reaper tech on his face, kinda like what the illusive man became in the end.

Yeah, they really missed a great oppurtunity. Laziness won out, and in the end the scene where he's talking Sovereign augmenting him has very little impact.

Yeah, I can just imagine that encounter beginning with his previous look but when he gets to the line about how Sovereign has upgraded him, he removes the cloak and that's when you see him as a cyborg to added impact.
