Pretty much this.

It's my favorite SMG, with the Tempest. Not because it's great, but because it has style (more grumpy souls would say it's an other way to say it sucks). As others said, you need to compensate for the recoil and put it on kits with accuracy boosts to get the most of it. I use it on Vorchas for lore reasons and on Tsent / Tsol when I really want to score points with it.
Besides, it can't be the worst UR, since the Spitfire exists.
About the Valkyrie, I consider it a good assault rifle. I put it on characters whom powers help to get headshots. It's effective on gold.

Excuse me sir, do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior - Geth Spitfire Hooper?
On topic: It is really good SMG, it is got character. I like to slap it on KroSent. Dunno about Vorcha, don't play them as they are pointless species. Works really great on martial biotics because it doesn't need accuracy boost in close range.

The Spitfire has qualities (accuracy, big mag size and high sustained dps), I don't deny it. I actually quite like this gun and use it as my standard weapon for the Juggernaut.
But it has also big flaws. Its weight and its ramp-up mechanism makes it already a very bad choice choice for casters. Add to that a movement speed penalty and it becomes even more terrible for vanguards and most other CQC kits. Basically it was a gun added to role-play with the Juggy. In the majority of cases the BPP will fit better than the Spitfire.

This is pretty much the best you can do with it:
That seems like perfectly fine behaviour for a UR SMG (Caster weapon), I don't know what people are complaining about. Oh yeah, probably the same people who complain about the Eagle. Anyone who says they prefer the GPSMG to this is crazy. Tempest makes the GPSMG look like the Shuriken, and the BPP is even better than the Tempest.
F*cking insane!! I loved using that combo wen I still played..This is pretty much the best you can do with it:

Well, you're looking at the very best you can possibly get out of that gun. Strafe a little far away from that comfort zone and the gun indeed starts sucking a little bit. Still, claiming that the GPSMG is better than pretty much anything but the shuriken is just far from the truth.
The BPP is an average gun, and it's also my lowest-ranked UR, so.... I don't use it much. My favorite use for it is as an anti-armor gun on a Pull-Reave Justicar. Taking down the high-armor bosses using only the Acolyte and Reave spam takes forever. I switch to the BPP once their shields are down and spray them between Reave spams. They are so big that the lack of accuracy/stability doesn't really result in many misses. And then a couple of Dragoons show up and I wish I had brought the Hurricane instead.
How about the weight agnostic volus adept (VA) build with shottie and bpp? - that spec biotic orbs to never use them. I think invaderone proposed that VA build In 2013... But without the BPP
That is out of the question for me, firstly regarding the fun part of the build and secondly because it's the only way for the voldept to get BE and FE / TB on armors. As for the gun, I think characters with Stasis (or Sub Net, etc.) are better used with weapons that can reliably hit the head.
It's not bad. I only use it on TSol, though. Thermal clip and heat sink with AP IV ammo and ROF increase on MM. Personally I prefer the Tempest on the Tsol.
That Dragoon beheading thing looks awesome, have to admit.

It's a OHK if you hit with the AP shot. Pretty fun, but won't happen very often.

I'm not disagreeing but I find Reave-Bubble-Reave to be almost as fast, and more fun, than switching weapons from my Acolyte, in almost all Boss-related circumstances, particularly Atlases - they're too busy being staggered themselves to do much damage. I will usually have a Tempest with me, but never really bother with it unless I'm on a hack or something.
There seems to be more hate for the GPSMG than the BPP, which is funny as it's only a rare weapon. There are very few rare weapons that I would choose above it for the Geth Engineer, who becomes a fire-exploding WMD with incendiary ammo, mag upgrade and heavy barrel.
I loved the BPP in the single player campaign...it was always my side-arm.
The MP version is meh....its still good but it feels so much different from ^^^^^^^^^^ I still like it.
also, I really like using it on the TGI ... don't worry, I will show myself out ......

So, how about not slapping it on casters maybe? There are plenty of characters that don't care about cooldowns and really improve the gun. We don't put Widow on vanguards either and it doesn't make it bad gun.
And one thing: you cannot go full rambo style with BPP or any SMG for that matter. Spitfire or Typhoon on the other hand, well, you Rambo the sh1t out of the enemy.
I personally prefer to put it on Hooper as he can dodge so no need for cyclonics as I prefer adrenaline modules. He is got no powers to interrupt the stream of bullets comming out of those right hand corners. But as you said, I understand if somebody uses it on the Juggernaut.
It sucks compared to its SP counterpart. It got nerfed bad in MP for some reason or another.
It looks and sounds cool. It's a caster's weapon for the most part, though.

No, not so many actually. Among infiltrators only the TGI has a damage bonus to assault rifles, and he will perform better with Harrier, Saber, Typhoon, etc. Among the other characters you mentioned -like the Destroyer for example- the Spitfire will not come either in the top 3-4 choices.
I don't know how you name a weapon that doesn't come as the best choice for any character and only as the n°4-5 choice for a half-dozen kits, but for me it's certainly not a great gun.

Coming from anyone on BSN,I can't believe you threw the Spitfire under the bus like that
.It's just like the BPP,there are certain kits(via passives/bonuses) it shines on.For example I know there are a few guys here who have been in my lobby when I've used the Spitfire GI.Unorthodox as fuc*,but a brutal combination.I found a different playstyle than cloak/proxy/shoot.RHA and situational awareness make for complete havoc with this build.
As far as the BPP goes,Turians,Geth, and Vorcha are the only guys I use it on.
It's not even 4-5th choice on anything. Movement speed penalty makes it complete crap.
You can release the zoom to just keep hipfiring, then you can move much quicker to soft cover,or wherever without having to stop firing.
