[Multigun]

I realize there is literally nothing that can be done since the last patch was forever ago and Bioware/EA ceased updating. However, I feel the need to vent, and maybe there is some sort of trick I'm not aware of to help out that somebody knows about.

 

1) So today, I spent 3.7 million credits after saving up for a week. I already have everything except for Ultra Rare weapons so figured I would just save up for funsies. I bought 99k boxes of all shapes and sizes, and I ended up with 6 Ultra Rare weapon upgrades. So basically each box (37 total) gave me a 16% success rate. Maybe that's normal, but at that pace I'll have the Ultra Rare weapons done sometime next century. 

 

2) I just got out of my 3rd straight game, and 4th total today, where the XP rewarded for the character a few minutes after the match concludes disappears along with any credits earned. This isn't the first instance of it happening for me. This includes couple of successful plat runs that I saw my credits disappear shortly after conclusion. I estimate that I've lost close to 1 million credits from this crap. The 3rd time in a row makes me want to uninstall the game and never touch it again. I just started promoting characters because I ran out of challenges to complete (yes I realize they are repeatable, just trying to complete each category once in order to get the green check mark), so I thought it would give me something to do while I try and max out the Ultra Rare weapons. But instead, not only am I spinning backwords with the credit lost, leveling becomes pointless also. 

 

In the 3 games, there were 2 different hosts, and myself hosting as well (even through in a restart in between) Went all 11 rounds, on a gold match, and successfully evaced at the end. 

 

3) I'm still learning, my gold score is something like 15k or so, so I realize that it might not be fare for a non-zomg ownage player to complain about bad players, but I'm going to anyways. What is with Gold and Plat pugs lately? I find more games with people having ZERO equipment (not even the free passive) and level 1 weapons then I do find games with people who actually know what they are doing. True story, joined a Plat pug game today and the person hosting had an N7 score of 1......Like never played a single multiplayer match. 

 

So in summary, if I manage to find a group which doesn't consist of people who barely know how to shoot their weapons, and the the game actually awards me properly and not revert all of my progress after every single mission, I then have the pleasure of buying 10 gazillion freaken boxes of which I might find 1 Ultra Rare afterwords. Sigh..../vent

I wrote confusingly when I said gold score and rightfully so people questioned it. What I meant was I have a challenge score of over 15k. Gold and Plat matches I typically score in the top two for what it's worth, depending on if I'm trying to accomplish a specific challenge goal or not. 

 

Also as of note, since a few asked, platform is on PC.

And sorry to say this, but you are right. Someone with a score of 15k on gold definitely shouldn't complain about bad pugs Nor being on platinum, for that matter. Patience, young padawan. You'll get there. Just not yet

That's why they're called "ultra rare".

But according to threads like this (and maybe that) your drop rate is not even bad.

I have no idea about lost xp/credits. Never happened to myself.

If you mean that your average score is 15k in a gold match you might want to do a little bit more silver.

There are many new players these days. Some of them just want to unlock all ultra rares as fast as possible even if that means to leech some gold matches. Learn to carry or host and kick. Or make some friends to play with you .

The "default" difficulty is plat iirc or "random" at least. That's the reason you get a new player in his/her very first match in plat.

This. Besides, Deerber is right, you shouldn't play gold if you score 15k at this difficulty level. Patience ! Try to shut down the completionist in you and practice in silver, before being able to put your weight at higher difficulties. You still have plenty of time to improve your manifest, and anyway you don't need to have all the weapons at 10 to appreciate the game.

 

As for the UR drop rate, it's 7,5% iirc, so you have been extremely lucky actually with your last string of purchases.

As others have said, what system are you on? There are plenty of players here who will help you out. Not only with easier games, but also to help you get better and understand the game more. As others have said, 15k on gold isn't really anything, seeing as how you get 10k just for completing the match. 15k is basically melee juggernauts and shield boosting volus teammates. What characters do you like to play? What weapons do you like to use? Give us your gamertag and we can look you up on N7 HQ to see your manifest and give tips on what to use.

 

As to your problem with ultra rares, I feel your pain. I maxed out after 860 hours, and I think that's right around the lucky side of average   Of course, PC has been known to have higher drop rates, because I maxed out my PC manifest much faster than Xbox

As far as seeing a N7 1 in a Platinum lobby... I do remember that when I first started my new account on PS3, for some reason the default settings had it on Unknown/Unknown/Platinum. At that point it had been over two years since I had played ME3 but at least I remembered that would have been a terrible idea. So I can see how a totally new player could just hit start without knowing anything (if that is what happens to other new accounts.)

16% UR drop rate is actually pretty good.  I am on a big drought right now, probably haven't gotten an UR in my last 2MM or so credits.  If I remember my statistics classes correctly, this means that my next Arsenal Pack is definitely going to be a double-UR, right?

 

If you're scoring 15k in a Gold match, I'm not even sure what you're doing.  You definitely shouldn't be playing Gold/Platinum or complaining about other players.  If you absolutely MUST play Gold, please use a class that has a good power you can spam, preferably AOE or multiple effect (e.g., Reave/Singularity for a team with other Adepts, or Overload for a team with Tech teammates).  At least you will contribute something.

16% drop rate sounds normal for 2 slots each @ 7.5%. Maybe a bit higher than average.

If you're getting only 15K you better be a volus or you're literally a leech on the higher difficulties.

This happens if you don't exit the search screen after changing the search settings. (Quick Search -> Set criteria -> Search -> Cancel -> Exit Quick Search -> Quick Search -> Search for game), cumbersome, but only way to work around it, if only PUGs knew this.

Clarified what I meant by the 15k gold score at the top via edit. As a couple of people pointed out, I meant challenge points, not gold average score. Though 15k bullets via a Shuriken, that would be a story to tell. 

 

I just got out of another game where I went from level 10 to 13 (silver). Exited the match, back to level 10 again. Didn't even spend my points, just instantly gone. So frustrating.

15k in a gold? Is that even possible short of deliberately using only Sabotage and never touching objectives? Surely you forgot a zero somewhere?

Also, max manifest is overrated. Most of the fun weapons are rares.

As much as I like disagreeing with her....shes got it.  Recently started using the Arc pistol a lot and it was a blast.  Even got a little rage from a pug. 

 

Saber and Lancer will always be my favorite weapons, but the game is a lot funner when you don't depend on RNG.  I would get really mad back in the day.  + with power based characters, weapons are needless until you get what you want.

also, what platform anyone plays on really doesn't matter because....the store is still the store.... c'mon dammit... 1 cyclonic...just 1...or 1 shotgun amp... I havent seen either of these in 3 weeks man,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
