My question is do you think we will be able to play as a dwarf mage in the upcoming DA4?
I hope not. The races already play pretty much as Rubber Forehead Aliens.
What's the point of having multiple races when they're all just funny looking humans?

It seems whatever 'powers' a dwarf could get all come from the stone... so surely that would mean even if the stone gave them magical powers, they would need to remain with the stone to use these powers?
A dwarf loses their stone sense (the reason they don't get lost underground) as well as magical resistance(?) if they spend long on the surface - I assume the same would happen even if dwarves unlocked some kind of magic. So I seriously doubt we would have a dwarf mage as a protagonist OR companion (unless we play an entire game without going to the surface)
I am just guessing but it is how I understood what happened to Valta - she got to the 'heart' of the stone and the closer she got, the more powers she got
