One thing that is leaves me confused since DAO is this - The qunari sew their mages lips. But how the poor things will eat? Talk? - In DA2 we have the mission where we save the saarebas and he's talking - i suppose one can talk a little with his lips sewn. But the question remains. What's the point ?

For the mouth sewing?
Supposedly its so they can't spread their corruption via speech.
But I assume for things like eating, the Arvaarad may be adept in preparing nutritional pulp/solutions that cane somehow fit past their sewn lips (through a mini-straw?). I'm not sure, but it is a good question.
And as for communicating.....sign language? Morse code via taps? No communication at all and only the silence of their own contemplation? I can only hope that they can communicate somehow.

I love Bioware. But if you think too hard about any of their story logistics... your brain will probably explode.

You can still form words without moving your lips, though. That's basic ventriloquism.
As for eating, qunari don't have the same dietary requirements as humans; Sten went weeks without food or water. They could probably sustain the saarebas with a liquid diet.

Oh wait, the Qunari were made PC. Their stitches don't actually hold their mouth's shut. That's just a fashion statement among saarebas. They are fed only the most exquisite delicacies by the most beautiful Qunari women, or the most handsom Qunari men, or both, or neither (aqun-athlok). Whichever the saarebas prefers. All while being fanned gently by large palm leafs while the lay on 100 of the Arigena's softest pillows. Because the saarebas' life is so difficult, and so the Qunari society treats them with the utmost dignity and respect at all times.

Why would a saarebas need to communicate? It's a weapon, not a person.
Warn about a danger, express any need they have, not too much, maybe their Arvaarads learn their way to communicate, though, if they send Saarebas without an Arvaarad (like the Inquisition agent) then they definitely need a less complex language.
