Do they?

I wouldn't be mad if there are no Asari strippers in Andromeda. Please give us something new

Hmmm, ok. The asari have dedicated themselves to a becoming a chastity sect and go about veiled head to toe while we now have hanar tentacle dervish dancers?

...I'd actually like to see that. Can you imagine the dance moves?

...actually the Asari have always given me the creeps. They look like "attractive females" of any species that gazes at them. We are literally seeing them through "the male gaze." I wonder what happens when a gay man looks at them?

That's what I'd like to see: a gay male Asari.

...Can you imagine the shitstorm that would bring down?

It's difficult to simulate in a video game, but I am guessing the asari effect is due to their pheromones. They are going to be cross-species attractive because of some trick of their pheromones which have to be evolved in such a way so as to have near universal appeal. So what they look like isn't going to matter as much as how your vomeronasal organ perceives them, and for the poor, confused gay male, that could be quite the ride indeed.

I never liked that idea about them. You can't just tell the players what's attractive...without hijacking their character. It's a little heavy handed.

After seeing some scenes with Javik on Thessia, I thought the Asari were genetically modified to be attractive to any species. Just took the joy out really. Also their government was keeping the beacons for themselves and Liara is only interested in you because you have the Prothean visions.

That was kind of already revealed in ME2.. with those different aliens celebrating a bachelor party. The human, Salarian, and Turian all saw the Asari differently, even though she was dancing on the same table in front of their eyes.

It's hardly a great mystery, ever heard family members arguing who the newborn looks like the most?

That's just everyone trying to pull the blanket in their direction.

So we have a bunch of drunk dudes arguing about something and everyone here is looking for deep intellectual treasures in their arguments...

I thought of another one, and that's Doctors/Scientists in Distress.

It'd be nice to have more characters or situations like Mordin where, instead of being automatically captured by a Merc group and need to be rescued, there problem has been solved by themselves, with cool efficiency as in Mordin's case.

Oh, let's just gender flip it. Let's have the hawt as hell male-looking hermaphroditic alien race that can mate with anything and propagates by using other female aliens as the maternal (or themselves if needed - you might hook up with the male of a species, never know). Then we ladies can have our Liara equivalent writer's pet, only in a hawt male bod.

As some have said, no all-"Female" species pls.

There should be an all male species instead. ^_^

If it is a hermaphroditic race, then they are not males by definition. And if they are the maternal parent, they become the females. They can still be hermaphrodites and look male tho. Or it can be sort of like the Xenomorphs (bare with me on this) in that they inseminate other species, and they carry their offspring (no need for chestbursters). In that way, they can be male only, and still reproduce without needing a female of their own species.

They could also have a race where the gender changes depending on the population. I think some type of fish does that. Snails too, but they are disgusting

Well, in order to have a monogendered society that is patterned off of the male body, they would have to survive in an entirely parasitic way by completely using other species. That would imply some unpleasant things about how their culture is likely to have developed if you think about it coldly and logically.

So I went back on that and decided they'd have to be hermaphroditic with a male body pattern on the outside. You could even have them follow the asari practice of having a cultural preference for partnering with aliens.

The thing is, do Asari have vaginas? I just imagine that they somehow put their partner in a hypnotic state, where they imagine having real sex, but there is no real thing happening outside of each other's minds.

If these male-not-asari have both sex organs and can produce both gametes as well, then there might be some compatibility issues with other species.

Also, the parasitic nature could be interesting, but not sexy unless they hide it well.
