I want to see more pseudo-aliens that just happen to be humans with different colored skins and different sounding voices. I think I'll be very satisfied with MEA.

I find this both fits rather well with the rubber-forehead aliens discussion, and neatly sums up exactly what I want out of Andromeda. Take an episode of TNG, add some more shooting to make it a video game - honestly, I could do without that bit, but it's part of the formula for a reason - and let me just talk, talk, talk.
Oh, and I'd like to introduce myself thusly at least once:
"My name is Captain ____-___ Ryder of the Feder... Alliance Starship Tempest."
...
(Obviously, you wouldn't actually be able to use your non-voiced first name(s), but I'd insert it in my head for the effect.)

Wow, I haven't heard the term Jive Turkey in years. Thanks for the laugh. I needed it.
I hope the ME team would take a small page from Blizzard. Blizzard had the Cow Level in the Diablo games and now Whimsyshire/Whimsydale for Diablo 3. I'd happily play a Turkey level and stock up for Thanksgiving. A hero needs to eat too.
