1. It doesn't. The cooldown time is way too long compared to how terrible this power is.
2. You said double fire explosion, which implies that you can get two FE's with IR > Carnage > Charge, which even if Carnage would reprime for FE, still wouldn't work because the priming window is extremely short.
3. What you're saying is simply not true. I just tested it with the lowest possible recharge speed on Carnage, and you cannot detonate it yourself.
Carnage is objectively one of the worst powers in the game. Meh damage with a long cooldown. The only character that can self detonate it is the BF Soldier with grenades.

Edit: Ninjaed by Loufi, I did the same test as him, and got the same results.

You can also self detonate with the Krogan soldier.

The only thing carnage can detonate on the Kroguard is ammo, carnage makes no sense on him as a power just like lash don't on the Batguard.

I like carnage on the Kroguard against bosses, especially Banshees. I play the Kroguard with biotic charge and carnage only nowadays. Might be a playstyle thing though.

button like a maniac, you can survive around 20s, so enough to get mission successful in your case (since no enemy can finish you in Reapers plat wave 11). But maybe you needed full extraction ?

Ah, now I understand. I got mission successful. But you need full extraction for it to count for solo mastery.

this one time when i was a child i lived on a farm, and there was this ditch nearby that was filled with pigshit. when i was like five or something i went into the ditch even knowing there was pigshit and got stuck waist deep in it. someone had to actually come and grab me by the arms and pull me out of all that pigshit. i was kinda traumatized. 

 

my last solo was basically just like this

At least you were smart enough to nuke double banshees. I Mantis-tickled them to death, to much afraid to use nukes because W10 could be targets (and it was), also they desynced and never went together against me.

I had the problem of them taking turns at teleporting/standing, what I had to do was force the teleporting one into the power cancel animation and hold her in place until the other showed up. Forcing the power cancel also works for stopping sync kills, often better to fling some useless vs banshee power like lash, concussive shot, or HML and trigger the denial than to switch to Missile and risk being too slow.

Did some U/U solo matches on Silver using QMI+Venom and Bronze with KroGuard + Reegar. It was hilarious and over to soon, even tho I got Condored in one game.
