Hi there.

Not sure if this is a bug or me just not playing properly, perhaps someone might be able to help me.

When I started playing yesterday, my team members seemed to join in the combat quite readily, even when I positioned them in certain places.  Now I'm finding that my teams gets left behind quite a lot and when we get into combat, they quite often just crouch behind cover and don't do anything.  This is particularly true when I direct them to sit in certain places.  Is there something that I've done wrong or not done?  Or is this a bug?

I did have a bug earlier where Miranda froze completely and I had to exit and load up again  but I'm not sure if these things are connected.

Anyone having the same problem or can anyone help me?

I would have done a quick search for this but the Search box seems to have vanished - so sorry if I'm asking something that's talked about elsewhere. :)

cheers m'dears

Tara

When they start acting retarded press "C". They will follow you and that should reset their behavior.

I have had the occasional issue with team mate path finding and glitching...

Once or twice they have got stuck, or just stood still refusing to do anything. I have fixed it by runing back past them they way we came from and it seems to wake them up again!

Not been a persistent issue though.

If you instruct them to hit the same target or to "come to you" (hit "C" on the PC or down on the D-Pad for XBox) do they still stand still?

Same happened to me. I was on the mission to recruit tali, and garrus thought it be funny to hide behind the cylinders and not use his overload. Cheeky bastard,

I had to get to next cutscene to bring him out.

If I hit 'c' when I'm exploring they do usually come to their senses and catch up with me.

However, it's not always very convenient to do it when I'm mid-fight, especially when I've been *extremely* clever [ ;) ] and carefully set up an ambush or I have positioned them to fight a little way away. It's sort of unhelpful to have them running back to me across the line of fire. And yes, Garrus was my guilty party too! I hope it isn't to do with him personally! :)

Anyway, glad it isn't just me. Although, it has caused me some shout some fairly strongly worded complaints at my team members, to the point where my other half suggested I stop and have a cup of tea.

I wonder if it's fixable?

Thanks for your responses!

Might be patched in due course...otherwise it may just be an unavoidable glitch which you will have to manage out as best as possible!

I hear you, my team was doing that to me on one of the side hall runs when saving arch angel.

I would run past flame thrower guy and hide behind column pinned down and squad mates just stod behind wall watchin, not helping. Even called them next to me couple times and stand/sit there they would do till I died.

Very fustrating. actually finally had to turn difficulty on pc game to casual for that one fight as squad just wouldnt help and I couldnt do anything againts a flame thrower and sheilded up assult rifle targetting me from close quarters.

This combat definately does have some bugs still

Yes, I should have said that I have actually tried calling them to me during fights when they seem to be stuck and I don't get much response most of the time.

I really do hope there's a patch to fix it though.  Don't get me wrong, I'm still thoroughly enjoying the game but as the finale approaches I'm beginning to dread the inevitable serial death and replay that's going to happen if it's going to be me shooting and my party members hiding behind boxes.

The worst things to fight when it happens are the husks because they overwhelm you really quickly if no one else is firing.  I don't like the husks, they actually scare me a bit! x)

"Shockwave" is very effective agains the Husks - especially on levels with edges that you can send them hurling off...

Works very well - allow them to group up and charge you, target the lead husk and then let rip - they will be sent flying everywhere and the other team members can mop up.

I have one thing to say: this game is absolutely amazing! I have only once had to set down the controller to compose myself while gaming (another unnamed bioware title) and soak it all in. the inspiration from classic film & comics is very eveident.  all improvements/ omissions very well done. here's to hoping mass effect 3 improves on the franchise as much as this did to the original! cheers bioware!!

I'm adding this additional note to my original post because they've started doing something else now.

My team runs away!!

I'm doing a mission which means I'm making my way down quite a linear pathway towards my goal - there are no doors or separate rooms, just a sequence of gangways and stairs which you can run backwards and forwards along.

My squad has now taking to falling back in such a dramatic fashion that I am left fighting all on my own where the action is, while they are cowering behind crates five miles behind me. Pressing 'c' doesn't seem to call them back in a useful way.  They do turn up again when the shooting stops though - thanks guys!

I can't find any way of changing squad AI behaviour or anything.

And of course I'm fighting Husks - @UnfortunateSon - thank you very much for the kind advice but sadly I am an Infiltrator and so Shockwave is not in my arsenal - however, I will remember that for next time!!! I *really* don't like them!
